You also have to “change facts” to have the Bobby Tables xkcd apply here, because this is about plates and not children.

It doesn’t have to apply 100% to be a relevant xkcd, they just posted it because, like op’s pic, it’s about a person trying to be clever by messing with speed cameras, but everyone would know whose fault is it the second time it happens because of how weird the plate is.

Your one obviously applies more, but there’s no need to gatekeep.

Your first point is incorrect, though. It’s true regular users can’t see the exact names of who performed the actions, but I still see a distinction between “mod” and “admin”. In fact, most “Banning from Site” actions are performed by “admins”. That’s why some of them being labeled as “mod” instead confused me.

But then why do some “banning from site” actions show up as done by mods in the modlog? Is it a visual issue and are those actually admins too?

Pretty sure Life Expectancy and Literacy Rate are both higher in 2024 than in 2004, whether you look at US or Worldwide statistics.

Most of the other metrics aren’t really measurable, and while I agree with some of those, you definitely didn’t factcheck before writing.

Basically you can’t link to a deleted comment, and deleted comments don’t show up at all in threads. There’s also a bug where a comment that has a deleted reply shows as having “(x) more replies” hidden under them, but clicking it just endlessly loads.

If I’m not mistaken in 0.19.x they show up as “removed comment” and you can actually link to them and/or see eventual replies to them.

Afaik this should also fix the linking to deleted comments, if anyone else cares.

But, as you said, it’s a private organization, focused on Conservative Political Action. What’s discussed there should more or less fit the agenda of the Republican Party, I figure if someone goes there and starts preaching socialism they’d get kicked.

I can't see that without a kbin account. This is how it shows up in Lemmy instances. If the difference is so big and it's a federation issue as well there has to be some manipulating going on, pretty much every reply to his comment is pointing out how unnecessarily aggressive they were to feminism as a whole.

Oh, you mean the comment that got removed by mods, doesn't show up in the thread, and is at a -24 score looking at it from their profile? Modlog shows it's been removed 2 days ago so it wasn't even up when you started commenting. Not sure how did you even find it, definitely not just by "looking at the second page".

But absolutely, this thread is a setup and one removed and heavily downvoted comment out of 200+ is definitely proof.

EDIT: I see you're from kbin so I'm guessing it was a federation error not syncing the mod action. Still, unless kbin doesn't show downvotes, it should be pretty clear it was far from a popular opinion anyway.

This is the only comment in the thread with the word "shitbag". And there is only one upvoted top comment who even mentions feminists, saying "There is a lot (of) feminism that really just amounts to men-hating". Coincidentally, from a trans girl praising a woman.

Where, exactly? Is pointing out men have issues that get ignored (by women and men alike) equal to hating women? Because in 200+ comments i’ve seen maybe 3 or 4 actually hating on women.
