It's correct. The "1 billion" is a number written out. Think of it like $(1 billion). It can also be abbreviated to $1b.

Why do you suppose most people don't substitute phones as laptops?

You're advocating for anti-choice, which is anti-consumer and against freedom. Just thought I'd point it out.

Feel free to disagree, but I don't think your operating system vendor artificially reducing performance is a tiny detail.

They are the only vendor that has done this. Phones will work just fine on an aging battery, albeit with a shorter run time, as expected. It's such an obvious cash grab.

It's not necessarily opinionated. Making the phones slower drives sales of new phones. They're not doing it to be charitable to your hardware. Case in point: they are the only vendor that is doing this, and it's not because it's innovative.

Innocent people don't need their trial dates delayed.

Facebook created a product called Threads and is attempting to bully Threads Software into taking their name. I was creating a hypothetical situation about how most small companies can't just steal a company trademark, because it's rightfully someone else's. However, if you are a larger company and, have enough money, and have shit ethics, then you can just kinda... ignore that, and for some reason, the US is happy to let wallets write the law.

They did this with Meta, too.

Maybe I didn't convey what I'm saying well. Facebook is attempting to take a name because they have money. Laws don't really apply to them, they seem to think, and it's because of their bullying and their money.

It's a shame how obvious they're working their corporate bullying cards simply because of money. Imagine if I created a product called Google and tried to sue Google for it. That would be ridiculous, right? Well, that's what Facebook is doing, just with money.

Of course, every project needs passionate leaders, which is where the maintainers play a role. They coordinate work and ensure quality. While lots of people can act as a leader, the passion of driving a project to success with unique expertise is a lot more rare. So treat your maintainers kindly!
