If so, then my reply is that she certainly didn't think of it as such. And when it comes to what she wants to wear, her view is much more valid than and outsider.
Many western men have forced wives and daughters to not wear revealing cloths. That doesn't make a loose pullover an instrument of oppression. The intent and reason of the person wanting to wear something is all that matters.
So when a certain number of accusations against a person is reached that makes the accusations true?
No, but much more likely.
You really think he gives a shit if you watch his movies? Cute but please keep in mind the dude is super fucking rich and his estimated worth is about 70.000.000$.
While I agree there should be severe and swift punishment for sexual offences, there should be some punishment for false accusations.
What are you talking about? There are punishment for false accusations. But that of course has the very same legal requirements of proven beyong reasonable doubt as any other accusation.
And no, just because someone is not proven guilty doesn't mean that the accusation is false. It literally just means that, the court couldn't prove the accusation and so couldn't punish the accused.
Just a small correction. Being not proven guilty doesn't proves innocence. It just means that the accusation couldn't be proven in court. That's the price we pay for our justice system which tries to keep wrong convictions as small as possible, quite a few guilty people will walk free.
And I think in this case a guilty person walks free.
Some people are objectively harmful to democratic countries and the principles they are built upon or even the world itself. If death is the only thing that can remove them from a position of power where they can futher harm the country and the people in it, I have absolutely no problem with seeing them on the way there. Good ridance!
If I ever get as vile as these people and negatively impact thousands if not millions of people then feel free to cheer my death.
Lemmy does have a problem where people don't get the idea behind it. But it's not required to have seperate logins for instances which are federated. This very post I do with my @feddit.de account and when you check other user names you'll see users from other instances as well.
Of course other communities are also talking about that. /r/PCMR for example certainly does. But that doesn't change the fact that the people talking about it are very few and that they have little influence on the casual gamer in regards to their decision.
I mean look at how fucking hard it is for humanity to solve important issues where a lot more people are on board with. Compared to that, pre-order and the sorry state of gaming is utterly meaningless so of course a lot more people simply won't care.
But hey go ahead, I wish you the best of luck. I mean this seriously. But you can be sure that I won't bet any money on that side.
Where? Here we have 1.2k potential users. The video does have 24k views. For big studios like Bethesda that's a rounding error! Skyrim for example sold 3.4 million physical copies alone at launch. I wouldn't be surprised if Starfield already has sold that many pre-orders.
I mean it's good to have such a discussion, but there are 10's of millions of people who regularely buy PC/console games. It would be silly to expect that such a huge amount of people could be reached easily by grassroot discussions of a few thousand people.
After all this whole pre-order discussion is by no means new. I've seen such for at least 5-10 years but in the end, pre-orders still happen on a gigantic scale.
I don't have the figures either but when I think which age group could have the money to actually preorder a game on a whim without knowing if it will be good, then it really isn't kids but working adults.
I don't have numbers but I bet that a lot of people who preorder aren't kids but adults with a proper income. Kids as a group don't have the income to uphold the current presale figures, that's done by working adults who can afford to preorder a game and take the not so small risk that it's utterly shit.
If I want I could preoder a lot of games that come out this year without having to worry about the waste of money to much. I doubt that any regular kid can do that.
why wouldn’t anyone want to be able to extend the life of their expensive devices, why wouldn’t people want easily repairable batteries that take less than 5 minutes to swap out?
I guess because they're used to the current state of things where they are replacing their phones every 1-2 years for a newer shinier one anyway. Getting the newest shit regulaerly for them is a central point of using their phone status as personal validation.
Let me guess, "It's a symbol of oppression!"?
