My comment was completely neutral in tone, why are you so angry?
I also stated plenty of opinions which are exactly that, opinions, not facts, and was curious what you would say about them.
I asked if you are Chinese or Russian because your English and typing style reminds me of Eastern European friends I have in Lithuania, Russia, and Ukraine. They all tend to type in a very similar way but with differences in word choice and varying degrees of English skill. I offered the choice of Chinese because you seem to be using Russian/Chinese/Indian anti-NATO talking points, but you don't speak as the latter two.
Now I'm curious, what country have you spent the most living time in?
I'm also curious, would you say that along with Putin being a despot, he is an authoritarian dictator tyrant who frequently has those murdered who go against his policies in order to stay in power, and has rigged the past few elections and has also rigged the current election?

If nothing else, I'm finding discussions like these helpful in curating my Lemmy experience. If someone is spreading misinformation, ignoring evidence to the contrary, and refuses to provide an argument as to why they feel the way to do, even if it's only a rationalization, then it's clear they're not (yet) capable of debate with critical thought and without emotions and social conditioning blinding them. I've never been one to block people but Lemmy is infested with groupthink in a way I'd never thought possible, it's beyond reddit.
Also any snark is highly frowned upon, unless it's in favor of the groupthink, so that's my own fault.

I'm sure you have the added statistics for convictions and they fully support what you're saying. Pray tell, because your urban vs. rural assumptions on violence is clearly not supported by the evidence.

If we're not going off of facts (statics of arrests and convictions) then what are we going off of? Feelings? I'm more than willing to have my mind changed if you can provide an argument that rural white men are the most dangerous group, as long as it's based on more than feelings and hearsay. A black man in urban attire walking into a sunset town of 100 people has the same result as a white man in a suit walking down a dangerous inner-city street. Same cause of effect: human nature.
At the risk of sounding racist, I think it's quite obvious that when you buy a foreign people from their homeland as a commodity (sold largely in part by warlords and warring tribes of the same race, by the way), treat them as chattle (literally) and forbid any written or oral history of their culture or familial past, while raping the women and killing the babies or selling them off, creating extreme intergenerational trauma, hatred, and injustice, and then continue treating them like shit even after the law says you can no longer treat them as less than human...
You may have a societal problem on your hands that doesn't resolve itself in a measly few generations. A societal problem that results in higher rates of violence.
We need better support in this country in so many aspects. For women and men of all races and creeds. But until we break away from being an overly materialistic consumerist society, that won't change. What we don't need is a distortion of reality to fit a false narrative.

Something I didn't know before now is his dad was a WW2 Navy vet who worked in a corrections department assigned to helping 'wayword youths' and eventually got arrested for con games and bank robbery, after being on the FBI's 10 most wanted list. He looks like you'd expect. Both he and his brother were found to have child pornography on their computers. Are you Russian or Chinese by chance? I typically don't hear people saying that Russia is doing a great job, instead I usually hear what you say, that it will probably go on for a long time.
Western countries giving support, weapons, and ammunition to Ukraine and also volunteers from other countries going to fight with them mean that they have a chance at holding Russia off. If Western support were to end, Russia would fairly quickly take over and annex Ukraine, which they promised not to do again after Crimea. Russia thought this would be a quick 3 day special operation, but they underestimated Zelenskyy and his ability to bring Ukraine together, so it's turned into a 2 year war. After 2 years, Ukraine doesn't have the supplies needed to hold them off.
However, if NATO invoked Article 5 for any physical or cyberattacks against, say, Poland, or if the US or any country decided to send boots on the ground in Ukraine, Putin and military leaders have threatened the use of nuclear force too many times to chance calling their bluff as when it comes to nukes, you only have to be wrong once and the entire world suffers.
So it's a complicated situation but currently the only outcomes seem to be supporting them with weapons and ammunition and intelligence, or letting them to fall to Russia.

Downvotes aren't insults and no one replied to you except me. But I'm curious, how do you think letting Russia topple Ukraine would improve their lives? That's what not giving them weapons does, allows Ukraine to invade and take their country. And it won't stop there, Crimea and the current war is evidence of that.
