  • How long has China been adopting the UN charter?

This is news to me. I guess we can all forget about the nine-dash line from today.

  • I think that you mean by distinction, what you really mean some have a sensible approach. Both are likely to buy a product just by preference.

As for people buying the less informed option, if people are happy with their purchases, then let them have at it. It is hard to compare anything with the disappointment of buying something you are getting enjoyment from, only to find some smart Alec calling you an idiot. It is great to see guides on best purchases before you buy them, but once a purchase has been made there is no real going back on that.

  • I find fanboyism pretty much a naïve attitude to have. These are large companies that only have one aim in mind, and that is to make as much money as they can out of you. That is not the same as buying into an infrastructure that gives you a comfort zone. All phone companies strife to push people into that comfort zone, where they do not want to change. On that I am guilty as charged.

All in all you spend your money where you feel happier about it. If Apple want to out price their products then people will find alternatives. I never understand this culture of griefing people for having differing comfort zones. There seems to be a lot more emphasis on calling out people buying a bad deal, rather than just educating people on where the good deals are to be had.

  • Hate to burst your bubble on that one, but all of the latest and greatest phones are made by cheap labour these days. Apple uses China and India, Samsung uses Vietnam, Google uses China and Vietnam with some assembly in the US.

  • the Palestinian militant group Hamas was not a terrorist organisation but a liberation group fighting to protect Palestinian lands and people

Then it is a liberation group that has war crimes on its hands. What Hamas did was wrong on so many levels. I think there is an overwhelming majority now see that Israel has done wrong for many years. This has been a massively provocative attitude towards the Palestinians. What Israel is doing to Gaza right now is also a massive wrong. Israel are using this as an excuse to take even more land in the West Bank. The problem will never be solved while the west support an apartheid state and ignore the actions against the Palestinians. But two wrongs do not make a right. There is no excusing murder by any party.

Gandhi is attributed to have said: “An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind”. At some point you have to understand how the people of Northern Ireland saw the issue. You will never bring all to justice for their crimes. At some point you have to draw a line and say this is where a new start begins. Israel needs to return the land stolen and let the Palestinian state develop. When people are impoverished to such a degree then this just invites extremism. Extremism only ever festers when people are under duress. Palestine will never develop while it is being hampered with Israeli aggression. This is the most obvious case for UN support to police the divide between the two states.

  • I think you have done more than ok so far. But as Oscar Wilde once pointed out:

“There’s only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about.”

  • Is that an “and” or an “or”? Are children hungry and homeless, or are they going hungry to avoid being homeless, neither is good obviously, but it makes the difference between a third world country and a very shitty first world country.

I find that an appalling conclusion. We are the 6th largest GDP in the world, and 2nd in Europe. Being either should not be acceptable in this country. However, it is not that we still have kids in this position that is the problem it is the fact that those figures are increasing at such a pace. The report is very easy to find, link here.

  • Maybe because the Tories are abandoning Net zero policies because of the influence of the NZSG.

  • You easily argue that the poor houses have restarted. Some councils are budgeting for additional short term housing for the homeless. All that needs is someone like Anderson to come up with the idea of making them work for their keep while they are there.

  • Except all work carried out under the Tories is done at exorbitant costs. Public projects under the Tories is nothing more than schemes to refund donations made to them.

  • it sounds like there’s a fair argument that the demand is undersupplied today.

This is the only argument in my mind. The supply of housing is far too restricted. This is allowing landlords to gouge. If government really worked for the people, then it would have done something about this years ago.

  • I hate games with very low playtime or just not very appealing to replay. Some of my best buys:

The ascent, Grim dawn, Shadow tactics blades of the shogun

Currently finishing Deperado's 3 (version 1 and 2 is not very good imo due to incompatible graphics updates).

  • Just change your password again to make sure. If it is a fishing attempt then changing the password can make it harder for any chance of success. Use the official website by googling Apple login.

  • We can not force an election. His own MPs can cast a vote of no confidence though.

He has just took a historic defeat and is under pressure from his own party. This is to stave off that VONC from the Truss group who have threatened to vote down any budget that does not give tax cuts to the wealthy. Sunak doesn't care about upsetting the public. He knows no matter what he does now he will loose the election. He has his sights on the India for a large pay out.

  • I am with you al the way on this one. The fix lies with the voting system. Under FPTP there will only ever be a two party system. Labour and the Tories are on a grift. I have already made my mind up on Starmer, this will be the time I vote Labour unless they implement a better voting system. To continue this cycle ad infinitum is just plain silly.
