How checklists lie with facts, and are bad for figuring out privacy of apps etc.

  • The point is that people interested in privacy and security shouldn't pay attention to such shallow 'privacy' recommendations but should actually do their best to understand things and read writeups etc.

  • Yeah. I don't know why so many people are obsessed with LBRY/Odysee except for being allowed to say whatever they want and loving web 3 bullshit. Especially because we already have a better alternative to youtube, it's called Peertube and is part of the fediverse.

    Sure it needs to put a lot more effort into giving users control over their experience but at least there are some server admins that care and do cut us off from Nazis etc and there's no Web 3 bullshit built in 🙂.

  • I will never go near it and tell everybody I can never to either it because it is basically just a breeding ground for hate. That's what "no censorship" means pretty much, synonymous with "free speech".

    Also Web 3 bullshit, a constant, never offline unremovable log of everything you ever did? Sounds like a privacy nightmare that doesn't let you ever escape your mistakes. No thanks.
