  • Why?

I'm not in the habit of being mean to people that don't deserve it. If it was you and other non-native speakers I would take my time to explain.

dansup isn't that he has a lot of power and actual black people who created the language asked him to stop. So it's not at all a similar situation.

  • Hey, thank you for stepping in and helping, sorry you had to.

    Hope you're doing okay.

  • British people in general are not oppressed by the general populace of most countries/the world.

The history of the world is white people, including and especially Britain taking what isn't theirs and doing what they want with it whilst those who have had everything taken from them or in many cases had many of those things killed and destroyed are ridiculed, locked up, not provided what they need to live and are extremely disenfrachised.

All they want is something that is theirs to stay theirs after all this, but nope, colonisers continue to take it, tell them it sounds ridiculous when they say or do it and then lock them up or worse for the 'privelege'.

  • If that's what's happening then people often do things that aren't okay to fit in.

If he's been asked by those same black people he wants to 'fit in' with to stop don't you think he should?

  • So I guess the opinions of the people who made the language and have to suffer every day by being ridiculed for using it and other aspects of their culture whilst those that have privilege enough to not face that kind of discrimination can look 'cool' and use it to profit, doesn't matter.

    Okay.

  • I'm well aware that 'Gen Z' took something that wasn't theirs, changed its meaning and used it to look 'cool' and gate-keep people from using the language they didn't make. Whilst the people who literally created such language and other cultural aspects are laughed at and treated like shit.

So, no, it's not as you say about 'language evolving' nor picking up things from hanging out with such folks, it's literally about privilege, thinking they are entitled to everything, just like most white people.

  • If you actually read the thread it's said multiple times "y'all" wasn't and isn't the problem.

  • We'd rather not give money to a cultural appropriator who has been asked by black people multiple times to stop it, but he doesn't.

  • Okidoke. Was planning on doing it on beehaw not anything external.

  • Our therapist tried to get us to do this. However, it's extremely difficult to do so for some reason, at least for me. Not sure how the others feel, especially the one that is closest to the inner child.

  • yt-dlp can be used on an iPhone via a-shell (and possibly other shell apps).

  • You can absolutely use yt-dlp on iPhone though via a-shell.

You can just install it and then type pip install yt-dlp.

    We do this.

  • In my naïve hopes I hoped this could be from stopping harrasment within Square Enix and its development partners, but alas no. It is stopping fans from harrasing, which is good but really they should turn that policy inwards as well.

  • Not really, I'd say it's equally spread along all points in the political spectrum currently.

  • Ah okay. Glad you were aware of it and thank you 🙂. I hope so too.
