  • We armed and trained the Norwegian resistance, and fought the nazis in Norway while harboring their king in a Swedish safehouse. Once control of the country was achieved the Norwegian king was swiftly returned to power. Basically every allied ship and base was equipped with swedish bofors anti air guns. During the early war while the soviets and hitler were allies, volunteers from the swedish military assisted the fins during the winter war while massive donations of military hardware was delivered. Totaling about 50 million bullets, 135.000 rifles, 800 machineguns, 144 field guns, 100 anti-aircraft guns, 92 anti-tank guns, wit in total 30.000 shells, 17 fighters, 6 bombers.

    To top it all off, we were also a safeheaven for Danish and norwegian Jews that ran from the Germans. We hid and protected almost every jew in entire Denmark, and about half of all the Jews in Norway.

    But yes, continue lecturing us about how wrong you are.

  • So, can the Slavic countries claim payments of reparations from the formerly known ottoman empire? Perhaps Jewish people from Asia? Surely the Christians from the Arabs, and the Arabs from the Christians? Not to mention Vietnam from China, or entire Europe from the decendants of the Roman empire.

    Or are all of those instances somehow different?

    History is full of misery and trying to pay to make amends for somebody else's actions, today, feels ridiculous. Just as OP, I don't get it.

  • When I first saw her she just sat there looking at me holding a hotdog, so I threw her half, which CLEARLY wasn't enough since she started to carefully walk towards me while sniffing.. I caught the drift, got down on my knees and put the rest of it about a meter infront of me, she scurried away pretty quickly after snatching it. Next time I met her she was a lot more trusting, eventually around the time I recorded the video she'd occasionally let me pet her for a minute or two (for the exchange of a sausage).

    I doubt I was the only one who had given her food though, considering how quickly she trusted me and how close she got even the first time.

    Couldn't upload videos here apparently, this is the best I could do.

    Just a fox that ended up getting a little too much snacks from people at the manned gas station. She'd hang out around the door and after I gave her a sausage for the first time she seemed to get really comfortable with me. She'd walk up and (sometimes) let me pet her for a minute or two.
