In the early days of the internet, WinZip was a must have tool. My college had a fast internet connection. I say fast but I bet it was less than 1Mb shared between everyone. Way faster than the 33k modem I had at home.

I used my college connection to download so much and then took it home on floppy disks. For files larger than 1MB I'd use WinZip to split files up.

Wireguard works out of the box for me. I use a docker image.

I disagree. In a business environment it is actually really good, or at least was pre-Azure. I dislike that they are trying to push people to Azure instead of on-prem.

For home use it's been pretty poor since Windows 8 and seems to be turning to shit since Windows 11.

Windows 11 did one good for me though. It's been enough to push me to properly give Linux a try again. Proton has been a major step forward as gaming has been the main reason I never stuck. I'm currently spending more time in Arch (btw) than Windows.

I still prefer Chrome over Firefox but I've been running Firefox for over a year now and won't go back to Chrome because fuck Google. Also stopped using Google for searching and not being tracked is very very noticeable.

I've ran multiple containers on a Pi 3 before "upgrading" to a Pi 4. Yes not even a Pi 5. Sure it's not rapid and drags it's heels at times but for the most part it's great for hosting stuff for my household.

Home assistant, Plex, Syncthing, Wireguard, Ad Guard, nginx, nginx proxy manager, duckdns, mongodb and unifi network appliance. I was also running Jellyfin along side Plex but it keeps causing the Pi to lock up.

I built a new PC last year and installed Windows 11. I honestly have no issues with jt and it runs fine. However the shitty practices of current Microsoft have started appearing and ground my gears. So much so that I got a second drive and installed Mint. It's not been easy adjusting and I often find myself booting into Windows for one reason or another but I spend the majority of my time now in Linux. I got a bit bored of Mint. I'm a sucker for new things so I moved to Arch. After installing a few packages I'm actually pretty happy with it. Proton has been the key for my move. Without it I simply wouldn't be able to use Linux.

Outside of Windows, moving away from Chrome, GMail and Google search it's a breath of fresh air. I don't feel like I'm constantly being tracked now and having products thrown in my face. I miss the old internet where harvesting everyone's data wasn't a thing.

And delivering above and beyond. 1.6 recently came out for Stardew Valley and the game has been out for 8 years.

CA is easily in the top list of all time greats for game development. It blows my mind that someone can have so much talent to write stories, draw pixel art, music and code the whole thing. Super talented!

I used to work in a 3rd line tech support. Whenever we got escalations from tier 2 I'd read their notes and then start from the beginning. More often than not they would say they have checked something and not found the fault when indeed that was the fault.

I ride my bike. It's great for just switching off. The weather is normally pretty awful where I am but in the sun in the summer it's amazing.

I dunno. I doubt it is. But I also doubt there isn't something they are getting back.
Maybe not personal information but I'd imagine there will be data on what keywords it flagged on and whether the user hung up or carried on with the call etc. They wouldn't be able to fix or improve the service without getting information back.

They said the AI stuff is all done on device so nothing is being sent back to Google
