  • Paraphrasing a comment I read:

'Think of the food supply, we have a surplus supply of food but still people go hungry. Increasing the supply further does nothing to address the underlying issue.'

The issue in South Korea is cosmetic doctors make 2 to 3 times more than those in fields deemed necessary, which the government sets caps on. This means fields deemed necessary are understaffed. The governments current plan in to try and flood the cosmetic labor field to bring down those incomes and force people to work in the needed fields. It's a stupid approach because they aren't able to say what the true issue is, and as such will never actually address the problem.

  • You blame entire ethnicities for what's going on and not the capitalist class benefiting from the military industrial complex profiting from the subjugation of indigenous people through colonialism?

That kind of ignorance is exactly how the current shit becomes justified.

  • I'll give you the benefit of the doubt since this was a tech article and they didn't bother to report on why Houthi's are carrying a campaign in the Red Sea. It's Palestine, they are disrupting Western interests for their continued support of Isreal as it kills off the native Arab population.

  • So does the US. They are both imperialist nations with opposing interests. It's not worth pointing out unless you are acknowledging how they both do it.

Each is in the best position to lay out valid criticisms of the other. You just have to use media literacy to be able to discern valid points from propaganda.

  • If Israel actually attacks Rafah, the civilian death toll will be catastrophic, and it will turn allies into enemies.

That's already happened while Americans were watching the superbowl, at the same time congress approved another 14.1 billion dollar package to Israel. That's in addition to 14.5 billion dollars that was sent since October 2023 in addition to the 3.8 billion dollars the U.S. sends every year.

US has no interest in a ceasefire, it's too easy to launder public money to weapons manufacturers.
