  • Anarchy. Anything short of literally ‘removing’ those in power and dismantling all of the corporations that are perpetuating the bullshit by force will result in a planet that will be uninhabitable for our grandchildren. Possibly our children.

  • Sorry, not meant as an insult, just a brain fart from the idea of people ingesting so much plastic that they become plastic.

  • You’ll leave a beautiful, mannequin-like corpse.

  • I bought a steam link forever ago and ran an Ethernet cable from my router to it. Works like a charm.

  • I’m down for it never ending.

  • Meanwhile ERCOT is asking people in Texas to conserve power damn near daily at this point.

  • Sure you can, you just have to make sure that the people have multiple forms of viable transport beyond getting in their cars. Trains, bike lanes and trails, walkability improvements, etc. Of course there’s an upper limit to density, but that density can be more thoughtfully designed and built. Mixed-use development is essential.

  • I get paid on Tuesday. :(

  • It’s not for me. It’s not for everyone. I’ve tried.

  • You nailed it. Most folks just wanna get by without worrying about if they’ll still have a roof over their head in a month. Little things to make life just a bit easier. A shorter commute. A car that doesn’t guzzle gas getting to work. Some time off to rest and relax so they can come back stronger.

But no. We’re worked ‘til we die.

  • ‘Goods’ as in ‘not food or rent’.

  • My wife and I together make about $85k a year. We struggle, no doubt. Not as much as we could, but to say we’ll be able to retire in 35 years is a joke. We’ve never been able to save. Not because we don’t want to or haven’t tried, but shit is just so god damned expensive.

  • But that’s what they want. The smart folks will leave the state, and their left-leaning votes with them. That’ll leave the state voting red, and those electoral college votes staying red as well. This is simply a grab for power, nothing more. Yes, it will lead to more folks being less educated, but that’s what the right wants: people too dumb to think for themselves.

  • I got spooped.

  • I had to move to low-income housing because no job I’m able to get pays enough for a ‘real’ apartment. I can move to my hometown, but It’s the same thing there. I barely make enough to get by. Were it not for my wife also working, we’d both be homeless.

Trust me. I’d love to move somewhere else, where a post-high school education wouldn’t make me more broke than I am, where good jobs grow on trees, and where housing is reasonably priced. But I can’t. So I Vite blue and get shit on for it here. But I do it anyway, because the asshole fascists that run this state sure as hell haven’t made my life any easier.

  • Ah yes, a person’s value as a human being is reduced to nothing the second they cross an imaginary line decided by folks that have long since died. Makes perfect sense. /s

  • Hey, some of us don’t have a choice but to be here.
