  • Didn't read the article, but my partner and I went on a Caribbean cruise in 2022 ish. Generally, it was fine. We had a good time.

But personally I would never do that again. I hate crowds and it was super crowded, I'm shy and awkward and didn't try to meet anyone new, and I just felt weird on the land excursions where the locals seemed like they hated their jobs but it was the best industry for them to feed their families.

I will say the restaurants on board were phenomenal (but not included in the price point), and the shows were fun. But the best time I had was just spent on my balcony, watching the world go by.

  • Atlantis is a little silly, but in a campy way that never takes itself too seriously. SG-1 does a better job at keeping the tone pretty serious throughout, but with comedic intervals whereas Atlantis definitely tries for more humor. Both are really good though.

  • I loved the one about the staircases. I grew up exploring the woods and you find some really bizarre things in places you'd never think, so it always seemed fairly plausible to me in some way. I mean I've found an empty and fairly new coca cola vending machine miles deep into some hilly woods, just sitting there like it had apparated there.

  • do you have to look away when concentrating on something?

What are you alluding to with this one? I do this so much and get weird looks from it, but I didn't realize it was a 'thing'.

  • Can I be a little bit of a shit and say none?

It's not that I don't like books or am proud of not reading - it's that my ADHD makes books damn near impossible unless I'm fully gripped immediately, and then I will hyperfixate and read the book in it's entirety in one day (ask me about the bender that was the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo series). And one would think audiobooks would be the solution, but man they just bore me hahaha.

Radio plays (or podcasts in the same style) and deep dives into history, however? That's the spot.

  • I actually want them to step away from 5e/DnD in general. I loved DOS2, but I agree with another commenter that the vast swaths of elements made things challenging in a frustrating way at times. Not that that shouldn't be a tactic to be used, but it definitely was egregious in DOS2.

5E is just... A fuckin mess when it comes to balancing the game - said as a long time DM and player. There are so many things that just irritate the heck out of me with the system that can't necessarily be balanced with a video game slapped overtop of it. (Not to say Larian didn't do a good job with what they were given, but still)

That being said, I am a total fanboy of Pathfinder 2e and the way things are balanced there, and I would love love love to see a CRPG under those rules. Especially if it was Larian-levels.

  • It gets very repetitive, but if you're solely using it as a means to an end for schooling, then it's manageable.

And even a full time 8x5 or 4x10 truly only takes maybe 2-4 hours to get things done, so then you have the rest of the time to study.

My career is in a sort of glorified data entry (GIS for a utility company), and it's super relaxed most of the time.

  • I moved from Utah to Washington State and while I do definitely miss the snow, I don't miss the cold.

What I find I miss the most is the sun. Seasonal depression is an utter bitch and I become a total homebody if there's no sun to bring me out of my den.

  • I know it's not the best recommendation, but my partner and I have matching tattoos on our ring fingers. It's a symbol for something we both really really love and it's delicate and sensible enough that no one looks twice. Even if we split, it's not their name or anything and it's still something that means a lot to me on its own and is vague enough to be something I'll still enjoy

  • I finally watched it after hearing good things and wow, yep. Incredibly mediocre, cashing in on nostalgia.

I did enjoy the music, though, but probably mostly because of nostalgia and my love for NES/SNES Mario games.
