I agree that we as a community need to figure out a sustainable way for the devs and maintainers to see revenue. I'm likely going to sub to the .world Patreon.

I'm an embedded systems C programmer with passing familiarity with Python. To me it seems ridiculous that a language relies on whitespace for blocking. Is that true?

I think app prices are due for a surge. With the cost of living/business increases we've seen since the start of covid, it's inevitable. Unless an app has super broad appeal I think the days of $0.99 niche apps are coming to an end.

Well, I don't consider Sync to be overpriced. So clearly we aren't going to agree on this. Not only did I buy Sync Ultra on both Reddit and Lemmy, for a time I further supported Ljdawson on Patreon.

I spend up to an hour a day in Sync. So even amortized over only one year (and I used Sync on Reddit for many years) that's 27 cents a day. Chump change.

In addition, I view supporting the app devs as a boost to the Lemmy community. Isn't app availability apps why many of us are here?

Polished apps will grow the fediverse.

It's mostly foss (free, open source software) linux guys doing what they do: Telling people what software they should use.

Long time sync user. It's fans. It's just that good.

I'm an Sync Ultra user from Reddit and bought Sync Ultra again yesterday. No regrets.

I don't mind spending a few dollars on a program that I spend as much time with as I do Sync. I've never understood the psychology of people who believe anything more than a dollar for a phone app is too much.

This is only he third time I've driven stick, but this Ferrari sure feels clunky.

Be cause Sync is a beautiful app with incredible flexibility. Jerboa is fugly.

If you don't like it, or are a foss purist, don't use it.

I bought lifetime Ultra on Reddit and just did again for Lemmy. Worth it.

All due respect, Sync was better. I appreciate that you liked RiF but give Sync a try.

Worst I ever saw was a porta-potty on China Beach in San Francisco.

My wife was the one that couldn't wait any longer. I went in there and spent 10 of the most vile minutes of my life arranging to make it usable. I won't try to describe it other than to say it was overflowing with solids and looked as though it had been on its side at some point.

Two different dermatologists have told me not to use a loofa; especially on the face.

In my city I avoid the ones like this. I found one where they're super nice and cooperative and laugh and make it a pleasant experience. Now I drive past two shitty tag agencies to go to the pleasant one. Totally worth it.

They already dropped him for basically that reason back in 2016.
