Not to mention people directly affected by it. Biden's whole pitch was he can get stuff done and be a one-term President. None of that has happened. This moment requires boldness and conviction. Biden is not the man for that at all.

It is crazy to try to paint this as drama when you bring up any issues before things get bad, folks will just shout you down anyway. I've seen many liberals say they would vote for Biden's corpse, so what difference does it make if it is someone else with (D) next to their name? You might as well go down swinging than on your knees.

Breaking out his checklist doesn't mean anything, even average/working class people are struggling. If he was doing well as folks make him out to be, people would be singing his praises and be ready to stand beside him. He has gained a ton of apathy over 4 years.
It is amazing how there is no line that Trump/GOP are willing to cross for this man. I've never seen a guy make so many people admit they have no moral backbone at all. Everything they hate and say other groups are he is.
Trump literally just has to throw some insults and jokes out there and he can avoid questions with no backlash. If an insurrection didn't damage him I don't know what will, Biden's issue is his own problem of people seeing him not being mentally sharp in real time so all the smoke and mirror are gone.
There is no real way to undo the damage here. Should people pick him over Trump yes. It is going to be hard when his admin so far has nothing but gain apathy towards him and the only people doing fine are his rich/well off donor base.
Do I know what is the answer here no. There isn't some simple choice that does make sure Trump is defeated but it isn't an election of only denying Trump. Trumpism as a whole needs to be defeated, and that requires someone with backbone and morals. There will be people after this one using all the groundwork Trump has laid.
There is no way to undo people seeing his mental decline for over an hour in real time. But even if he steps aside, it is pretty late in the game to put resources and spreading the word about who is running and getting people out there to vote for them.
Moderation was the biggest issue with the debate. Everyone knows how Trump doesn't believe in objective reality, so not pushing back on lies is harmful and dangerous.
The media is to blame here handling this debate like it is a Wrestlemania match. No pushback at all for Trump dodging questions and letting them go on about golf when people's materials needs aren't met and they just criminalized being homeless. Very unserious debate moderators.
