  • I can't understand why some Lemmy users feel the need to invent new things the tankies might say or do. It reminds me of American MAGA folk: they take a perceived problem, vastly magnify it by fabricating further falsehoods, then engage in a circle jerk where they all seem to feel superior for identifying this massive problem that they largely imagined up.

I suppose it's a lazy way to get easy engagement, but it's dishonest and gross. Let tankies be accountable for what they actually do, lying about them makes you just as bad.

Edit: I didn't notice at first, but of course it's YeetPics, the alt of PugJesus, one of the .world tankie rabble rousers. Check their post history, they seemingly just can't stop talking about tankies. Maybe it's a kink?

  • I appreciate that you prefaced your comment by letting us know it was a braindead tumblr take. I otherwise would have been confused since it's centered around a point the original comment never made.

  • Pretty much my criteria exactly. An off remark is fine, we all fuck up once in awhile, but consistent rude or dishonest behaviour gets them a block. It's not worth my time and emotional energy to deal with angry children. I get enough of that at work already.

What I think is funny is someone I blocked also responded to your comment.

  • Nice breakdown. I've spent some time here and there watching this clown throw themselves bodily side to side to avoid getting the point. Any time someone corners them, they reply with some variation of "I'm bored now, not responding anymore".

I think they're just a pretty proficient troll. For their sake, I hope I'm right as one depressing alternative is this is actually who they are.
