What's interesting is a family friend I know gets laid off twice a year in his unionized workplace at a steel mill(?), but he always gets the same job back. The company just can't afford to keep everyone on staff during slow months. He makes bank though, so it works out
My roommate stomps around like he's a 600lb land whale. He's like 140lb. I'm a bigger dude and sometimes people don't even hear me coming. Be considerate and walk like a normal person
Customers get charged for maintenance between the ISP and their house
They really don't, customers get charged what they need to be charged to support the network, not just the last mile to your house. Companies don't get internet connectivity for free, either, paying significantly more than consumers at every turn
You're getting downvoted but juvenile detention exists for a reason. All these people out here thinking children don't understand that laws apply to them should be wondering why kids aren't murdering each other or committing theft daily
I think until anyone in government sees consequences of their actions then nothing will change. If it's used against them, maybe they'll help legislate against it
To be completely fair, a layer builds up in the pipe which stops the lead being an issue unless you royally fuck up like Flint. That said, it still should've been fixed
I'd say luck will sometimes make you rich, and being good at what you do will sometimes make you rich. Being good at what you do and also lucky has more of a chance of making you rich
It's *usually not entirely luck, you generally have to sort of know what you're doing
I've found it great for tracking down specific things in libraries and databases I'm not terribly familiar with when I don't know the exact term for them
It's more user friendly in a thousand minor ways, such as installing programs, which makes it much more user friendly overall. At least MacOS has a consistent UI that doesn't massively change every single update
Plenty of people unironically using it believing it's an actual argument
