  • Despite the technicality, nobody refers to using a credit card and immediately paying it off as 'going into debt' and if you use it that way people aren't going to understand what you're meaning.

The credit system is screwy, but if you can't see the difference between social score and a financial score, that's on you.

Credit ratings are done internationally between countries, and most countries have some sort of internal credit scoring system. It's hardly US specific, aside from our specific implementation.

  • Give me a reasonably priced, accessible way to enjoy the content and I will happily pay for it.

Streaming has become untenable and now it's neither affordable nor convenient to watch what I want to watch. And with how frequently shows and movies bounce around platforms, who knows if the show I want to watch this weekend will be still available on one if the many platforms I've been paying for.

    I'm just done with it.

  • You're misunderstanding how credit cards are very often used.

Just because you pay with a credit card doesn't mean you are 'going into debt'. I pay my credit card off every month. I never accrue interest. But it's 1. Beneficial to my credit score to use it some and 2. I get cash back on some types of items, so it's just beneficial to use my card.

  • Maybe if communist theory wasn't actual fantasy more people would read it. I guess most people are more rooted in reality where communism is a shithole that doesn't work, and communists are people you have to put up with talking at you as if you cared.

  • ITT: people who can't understand the difference between doing something good and being good.

Of course there are plenty of billionaires who have done good things, and pointing out all the ways they are still a shit person doesn't change that. Shitty people occasionally do good things, even if for shitty reasons.

  • Well my cat once got out for less than a day, came back with feline leukemia, infected her sister, and they both died long before they should have.

But yes, I expect anyone at my house to be vigilant about not letting my animal(s) outside.
