  • I think people tend to vastly underestimate the extreme poverty that is widespread in southern states especially. Very high homeless population with barely any services for them, people living in dilapidated buildings with slumlord landlords, no grocery stores, very high unemployment and wages well below the poverty level being the only jobs around. This is the case in parts of every inner city and many rural towns in the south.

  • I don't have this drawer. The ambiguous items just get a place assigned to them with their less ambiguous brethren. And some of these more three dimensional things I keep in a cabinet, like the funnels. I usually keep my scale out on the counter at all times because it's part of my coffee setup in addition to just baking/cooking

  • Microsoft is deeply entrenched and has undergone decades of enshittification. SteamOS is at only the beginning of this cycle. And since SteamOS is linux-based, it's likely to have ramifications for the whole GNU/Linux ecosystem. Furthermore, if there are two vastly different OSes that developers and graphics card manufacturers need to seriously target, they're more likely to write more platform-agnostic software that everyone can benefit from.

  • This is kinda the OG definition of terrorism actually. Back when 19th century anarchists invented this hot new direct action political tactic called terrorism. It was all the rage, for a while, but it backfired and increased public sympathy towards the bourgeoisie and the nobility.

  • Your getting older. They are asking the abstract noun representing your aging what some signs are. I don't think your getting older is going to be able to answer, though, and I doubt it has much knowledge of signs.

  • I'll ignore whatever "you guys" is supposed to mean. I never brought up lived experience and neither did you in this comment chain. A person jokingly commented a rigid, universal claim. You asked for an explanation to how the rigid claim was incorrect. You were shown counterexamples. You replied by quoting a dictionary definition in order to emphasize that the counterexamples are less common than the supposedly universal examples from the original comment. This is, obviously, irrelevant to the logic. That is why I said that you were failed by your parents, schooling, and society, because those three things were responsible for teaching you to understand reality around you and to be capable of reasoning. Your idea that infrequency is the same as nonexistence shows a deficit in basic reasoning. This has nothing to do with opinion.
