You are being rude and unpleasant, as well as missing the point of what I am saying. Learning is literally my favorite thing to do with my free time and "finally learning something new?" Is a condescending way to ask what you asked.
Apparently you have never taken a badly taught class or anything similar and you simply have no concept of what it is I'm trying to talk about. Teaching in a complete way that is understood and isn't excessively verbose takes skill, time, and effort. Their comment wasn't wrong but it was not high quality teaching. It was obviously confusing for many people who commented and upvoted about it, and barring anything else, that is enough evidence to show the explanation is imperfect.
I don't want to talk about this anymore and I have no more desire to give you any more of my time in particular.
I mean the quality of an explanation is a matter of opinion. I already admitted it was a technically correct explanation, but I stand by my opinion. You can disagree but have failed to convince me to think otherwise.
I understood it, after I googled a lot of what they said. And I'm not trying to give them shit, they made an effort to be helpful, it just wasn't really.
They made almost no attempt to put it in layman's terms, which means as an explanation it is not very helpful unless you already know enough about the topic to not need to ask about it in the first place. Correct and unhelpful. But I guess they were busy.

Eh I feel like that is semantics. If we are specific and refer to how individuals adapt to be lactose tolerant, you could still say "humans evolved to drink milk" instead in reference to how the population of humans that could adapt and become lactose tolerant grew in relation to humans that couldn't.
Don't appeal to evolution, evolution is weird. Evolution just does whatever survival says. If we can survive drinking milk, evolution is cool with it. But evolution is weird, evolution will be all like "You like cows milk huh? That's cool, have you considered shrinking down and losing your brain and most internal organs to become a nipple latching milk parasite? No? Ok, I'll ask again later."
I can't tell you why but it is a style to have most characters to have huge round eyes, and then have characters have magically tiny beady eyes whenever they have glasses on. They do move and look like pupils, but also get to blink for some reason. You can see that style in lots of stuff.
If the culture war is the class war then the class war is the culture war. Dealing with the culture war is often many many times more actionable. We can and should deal with both.
Apparently most people from this assumed I was anti-nuclear, when actually I am just very pro-renewables. I don't really have a problem with nuclear, not unless it is used improperly or inefficiently. I just recently had seen many arguments on lemmy where a lot of people seemed to be against using renewables in favor of nuclear.
