  • Define "caught cheating" and how accountability is maintained or else this means very little. Why wouldn't they constantly collaberate with other stake holders to manipulate the value of the currency to their advantage? How would they get caught if they do it carefully?

Also I had deleted my previous comment because it looked like it had failed to federate properly. Now I recieved a response to it. Idk what happened.

  • Proof of stake might conserve power but it is the final evolution of cryptocurrency into a pure pyramid scheme.

I don't see how anyone is ok with the value of their currency being validated and effectively controlled by the people that have the most of said currency. I can't imagine people with more clear conflicts of interest in mantaining an honest value of the currency.

  • There so cool

  • All is based on what people on that instance are subscribed to most, not just federation

  • For all the people that like to talk about having access to the whole fediverse and decide for themselves who to block...

mander.xyz and ttrpg.network are both rather niche instances in their own right, but don't defederate, and I don't believe are defederated by, anyone.

No one join them and say/do anything toxic though, don't ruin a good thing for me lol

  • I agree that pansexuality doesn't mean an attraction to every individual of every gender, yes. I should have been more direct in how I said this part, but when I say "a person who is sexually attracted to every gender that there is or could be" I am just trying to communicate what you said. I suppose I would personally see a distinction between "attraction to a gender" and "attraction to a person of said gender", where the prior means overall sexual compatibility with that gender, and the latter means a literal instance of someone feeling attracted to someone else. But I can see how there isn't any actual clear distinction between the two, I should say it different.

  • Infinite captcha never believed I was human.

Is this how I find out I'm a robot?

  • Allow me to be more clear about why I said that.

It is mostly because of the words themselves. The "bi" prefix means 2, or twice, etc. That would mean the word bisexual literally means "twice sexual". Sexuality is inherently related to gender because it is a quality defined by relationships between people's genders, and bisexual thus (literally, but often not functionally) means a person who is sexually attracted to two genders.

The "pan" prefix on the other hand, means all, or including everything. Thus we can assume pansexual to (literally) mean a person who is sexually attracted to any and every gender that there is or could be.

  • You are missing their point.

Consider a cis woman, and compare her to a trans woman who is has been on hormones their entire adult life (never went through male puberty) and has had the complete series of surgeries to get her genitals and secondary sexual characteristics perfectly in line with her gender.

Now consider two more women, one of which is similarly cis, and the other is similarly trans, but you don't get to know which is which beforehand. Would your attraction magically know which woman had female genes? Of course not.

So the point is if it is the knowledge of their being trans is the entire reason for your lack of attraction then that is a negative bias against trans people, commonly referred to as transphobia. If you can base your lack of attraction on character, behavior, physical features, compatibility, or even just what sex organs they have, then that is not transphobia.

  • If it was one I would agree with you. Several people saying it in several places in the thread though, reminds me of that "I identify as an attack helicopter", which is more transphobic because of its being spammed by people with agendas than because of the explicit content. This seems like a similar, if less popular, kindof homophobic "meme".

  • You need to relax. You are talking a lot about the proper way to moderate while actively breaking the rules in a community by being so hostile. Appreciate the irony of that for a second.

And for the record and my defense, before you accuse me of trying to defend the alt right or something, there are some shitty comments in this thread I wish would get removed. The jokes about sexual attraction to cookware are overdone, toxic, and annoying, and that is just the mild side of what was in this thread. The mods removing the outright hostility is a start, but letting gender and sexual minorities be the butt of the joke over and over is not a great way for a space to be

@Thekingoflorda@lemmy.world if you are reading this consider removing those jokes.

  • Just don't act all surprised when your negative opinions about other people cause other people to have negative opinions about you.

  • The "bi" part of bisexual implies a gender binary. Some people like that, some people don't. Pansexual is just an alternative that is explicit in its attraction to non-binary people. Some people aren't attracted to non-binary people, and use bisexual as a label to specifically mean only an attraction to men and women. Other people who might be described as pansexual describe themselves as bisexual simply because it is a more well known word. It all varies.

"Non superficial bisexual" isn't the worst definition of pansexual, but saying pansexual is shorter.

  • Is it a little more finished now?

When the original vanced got stopped, I could never get the patcher for revanced to work on my phone, and it wasn't even clear what the issue was. just a lot of errors and glitchy youtube.

I've just beeing using firefox with ublock, but its not very convenient.

  • actually, speaking of the subscription, the fact that ads can be removed with either the subscription or a one time payment is one of my favorite things about sync. I don't really like subscriptions either, but then the only feature I really wanted from Sync was the ads removed, so I don't have to even care about the subscription. I wish that kind of monetization style was WAY more popular.

  • I still think the idea of tech implants are cool but I've also reached the point where I wouldn't get one unless I learned to build it myself and was in charge of every single aspect of it.

Considering I lack degrees in medicine and computer science, I don't think I'll have them done anytime soon lol

  • It seems unsustainable and mixed up to think no one should ever use non-FOSS options for anything.

Maybe that would be the case if we were in some post scarcity perfect society where no one needed income, and all devs were just doing it for self-fulfillment, but I can't blame someone for wanting to make income off of their work. Especially if they seem like a reasonable person, wanting reasonable amounts for good work.

Isn't supporting a smaller dev a good thing? I mean, this guy got screwed over by reddit fucking up his income.

  • Imagine how it must feel to have your own chewed up soul spat out all over your face. Probably bad I would guess

  • Yeah... It's been a minute now so idk what's happening there now, but /r/terriblefacebookmemes always had an unsettling amount of people in the comments that just agreed with the messed up memes. In particular, that subreddit almost lost all degree of civility every time a fucked up meme about trans people was shared... That really brought the assholes outta the woodwork
