Looking like the Tesla connector is well on its way to becoming the standard now. GM, Ford, Rivian, (I'm forgetting one), and now Mercedes all switching over. The Tesla Supercharger network in the US is fantastic, much better than the alternative. Hopefully that doesn't go downhill as more cars flood the network.
I've tried Linux every few years for the last few decades and it's never been at a point where I can switch. I am in the process of trying again, however.
Started today trying to dual boot it on a Windows laptop that has a boot SSD and data HDD. Tried resizing the HDD and installing Nobara and can't get the machine to boot into Grub (the suggested fix on their site didn't work, possibly because of the two physical drives). Searching for a solution was fruitless and I'm honestly over it already. I want an OS, not a hobby.
The very definition of insanity right here. There is ALWAYS something that doesn't work and I'm not a fucking idiot but I'm not a developer either. Linux fans act like people on Windows have no excuse not to switch but I've been trying since the 90s and Linux just does everything it can to frustrate me. God knows how someone who's not tech savvy is supposed to figure anything out. /rant
I spent a season working in a packing house for watermelons. They'd come in by the crateload and we were allowed to just grab one to eat any time we wanted.
The trick I was taught, and which proved to be pretty reliable over the course of the season, was to feel the veins. (This is possibly what's being described as webbing here?) Watermelons aren't smooth, they have wide "veins" running top to bottom and you can feel them if you put your hand flat on the side of the melon. The bigger/poofier/wider the veins, the more ripe is it.
I feel like it was niche even when it was on. Lots of people know the big quotes like 'Stimpy! You eeediot! ' but dont know the more rare ones like 'Quick, man! Cling tenaciously to my buttocks! '
Okay, I'll bite. I've been trying Linux every few years for the last few decades and it's never been anywhere close to replacing Windows for me. I'm not a luddite; I was in tech for many years (MCSE certified) but there just... ALWAYS something that doesn't work right. And there's NEVER a simple fix. Linux for me ends up being more of a hobby than a tool and I haven't had the time or patience to deal with it in the past.
But I'm willing to try again,
Anyone have any resources to get me pointed in the right direction? Which distro to try, how to install as a dual-boot on an exiting Windows machine without breaking it, how to get Steam/Nvidia drivers/games going, etc?
EDIT - Apparently trying to dual boot with Windows on a machine with two physical drives is too much to ask (unless you have a CS degree). Maybe next time, Linux.
Yeah, I have no pride about using summons for the boss fights. I figure I can be l33t and solo bosses on my New Game+ play through if I ever get that far.
I do have alt-itis bad in these kinds of games. I started with a 2h Strength build, tried dual wield, sword and board, pure int mage, pure dex sword/bow, and dex/int spellblade. So far my 2h build and my spellblade have been the most fun for me. As you mentioned, I realized that the versatility of the spellblade worked really well... the ranged magic trivialized some areas and having a melee tool let me hold my own when range wasn't an option. I am starting to think I need a better dex sword than the Estoc/Rapier tho. The poke poke move set is really bad against groups.
There's a definitely a setting and it's set to Off by default. I haven't turned it on to test myself yet, but hopefully that's what you're looking for.
