...did a countdown till midnight so that I can start playing at launch, and I even live streamed it (and also had a few other streams going on two laptops). Took the day off to play the game as well.
Every time I read stuff like this, I just shake my head, no matter what game is being discussed. I won't say this has NEVER worked, but certainly not for the last decade or two. Games have just evolved to the point where big budget releases are always problematic right at launch. Whether it's full of bugs like CP2077 or it has server issues like all the "live service" games, there is always something that makes playing right at launch just not viable.
To be fair, last I checked, commondreams was so far to the left, they fell right off the flat earth. I consider myself pretty progressive and a lot of the stuff I saw from that site made me roll my eyes and go "this is where people get those crazy ideas about progressives having crazy ideas!"
Anyways, it's been a few years since I paid any attention to them so maybe they're not so cringe anymore.
Not sure how old your kids are, but mine are 7 and 11 and I would definitely NOT play BG3 with them. If it were a movie, I don't think it would even get an R rating given all the sex and gore.
(To be clear, not judging the game. I quite enjoy it. Just don't find it appropriate for my little ones. Caveat emptor.)
FWIW, I had a lot of fun playing thru Portal with my son. No official co-op mode in the first one, but the second one has it and it's pretty old at this point so should run fine on older machines.
JFC. There's an opioid shortage too and for the same apparent reason: the federal government setting limits on manufacturers.
I have cancer and have been on oxycodone daily for many months now. Last time I needed a refill, I almost couldn't get any in time before running out. Got it literally the night I took my last one. Can you imagine dealing with cancer pain AND opioid withdrawal symptoms at the same time? Why should I have to deal with that?
And why should all the families dealing with ADHD have to deal with shortages of drugs to treat that? This whole situation is fucking absurd.
I get kind of annoyed by what words they decide to add or leave out on a given day. I feel like the hand curated aspect makes it feel like major BS when you think of a good word that isn't valid and then you see "woot" and "psht" or shit in other languages as valid words.
You used to be able to literally brick your build (get to a point where it's impossible to progress any further) in Bethesda games. I'm sure that's changed now, but that paranoia lingers.
What's that? I couldn't hear you over the sound of my wife's pussy drying up and she was just sitting next to me while I read that!
