The deaths of ::: spoiler spoiler Hugh and Icheb ::: were particularly upsetting for me, personally (especially the graphic nature of the latter). PIC S1 had way too much "let's kill people for no good reason" events.

I'd be perfectly happy if the dead PIC characters just showed up alive and well in a later show, no reason given. (They already did this with Q, right?)

I don't think the actor was bad. Having him be a doctor on Legacy (he is a doctor, right?) would be a good use of the actor and the character's past without having it be the focus of the show.

I watched all 3 seasons. Season 3 should be recognized for its special effects and acting - the new characters and classic ones both perform well. Too bad it was in service to such an unneeded story.

SNW is in the upper tier of Star Trek shows.

Best solution:

1: Sedate Tuvix. He must not be conscious for the next steps.

2: Make a transporter clone of him (like Riker/Boimler)

3: Separate one of the Tuvixes into Tuvok/Neelix, leave the other as Tuvix

"Decades before" Star Trek 2009: that would be in the post-Enterprise, pre-TOS/Kelvin era. We know the first Romulan war happened somewhere in there; anything else?

We basically need more Jeri Ryan, in any context. And "Crash" LaForge should be there, she was fun too. Just definitely don't use the same writers from PIC.

I have two reasons to not write this off:

1. Picard S2 would have been just fine as a 2-or-3-part episode, and not a 10-episode full season.
2. The first 4 episodes of Picard S3, watched together by themselves, become the second-best TNG movie (after First Contact of course).

If they were announcing Picard season 4 I'd just groan and ignore it. But I think the cast and crew could actually pull off a decent 1.5-2 hours of good entertainment.

QubesOS. When you need security and don't need to play games, this is objectively the best distro.

NixOS for me. It's a package manager (a very nice, declarative one) that you can use on any Linux (or Mac), and there's also an entire distro based on it.

I have an inexplicable fondness for the Excelsior class. Both NX-2000 and NCC-1701-B are fun to watch. I would've liked to see more of them.

(I know there's a bunch in the Dominion War battle scenes, but never for very long.)

Good to know! I've been using local testing and fortunately haven't run into a case where the tests pass local and fail on their servers. Yet.

My most intense solution so far had been a very multi-core Knapsack solution. The tests they provided are pretty minuscule, which probably helped.

I block meme communities and AI art. I'll unblock AI art once the machines figure out how fingers work. I don't block porn except when it's outside of my interests (I'm not into men or furries, for example).

You might consider unblocking the meta communities - it can sometimes be illuminating to see how other places are run, and give you ideas to improve your own instance.

We don't have downvotes on my instance, and it's an amazing difference. I recommend it!

I generally just upvote everything I like, no real thought process involved.
