  • Old. Reddit still looks the exact same as it always has for me. I use Reddit enhancement suite so so maybe that's it. Just turn off "use subreddits style" for every subreddit. Dark mode on. Ad blocker enabled. I don't have the new tab issue. I can see that this won't last forever though and eventually Reddit won't exist to me anymore.

  • Lol what ads. Old.reddit with Reddit enhancement suite and Ublock Origin. That's the only way I ever browse Reddit anymore. I have never seen an ad on Reddit. If they ever get rid of old Reddit I'll never go back there. As it is my Reddit usage has decreased by 95% since using Lemmy and never browsing Reddit any other place than my pc.

  • Nah he was my boss and I was a decent sprayer, and a very very good helper. So to make fun of me wouldn't have worked well for him. He understood my concerns. My other coworkers were not like that though, like someone in a comment above me said. They'd all crack jokes at me because I took safety very seriously. I would like to see how they are all doing now and I wonder about their health sometimes. I didn't keep in touch with any of them though and live far away now.

  • I worked for a few spray-foam insulation companies in my early 20's. I'm just waiting to hear the same thing from spray foam. Half the guys I worked with didn't wear masks most of the time and were just covered in foam all day breathing in the off gassing of fire retardents and blowing agents and other nasty chemicals. I quit because I saw the writing on the wall and my boss hated me for quitting before training my replacement. I told him it wasn't worth my health.

  • They hired me and they know where I live. It's their choice to hire me as much as it's my choice to be hired and my choice to choose where to live. There's an upper limit on how much they will pay, some of the guys are at that limit and so some of their driving too and from work isn't paid for. All of their driving while clocked in is. I think this should just be the norm for everyone. Do you get paid at all to travel to work?
