Does going this far with targeted ads actually increase people's likelihood to buy something? Like, the value of data you can get on someone has to plateau at some point, right?
Basically, people are about as vulnerable to misinformation campaigns online as the Native Americans were to all the diseases the colonizers brought over. Most people have no natural defenses against it.

I feel this so heavily. Those that are just that braindead, and don't want to fix their braindeadedness, just drag down the rest of society. Like do we really gotta spare resources for hateful mouthbreathers that mob mentality on anything they don't understand? Like, if they're going to hate entire swaths of people for no good reason, they deserve to be hated.
I live in Michigan and basically as soon as you go into any rural area, it's Trump Land. Complete with crazy hand painted signs calling Biden a demon and praising Trump as a god.
