Trump is paying them in exposure.

I wish I could take time off work as often as the House does.

They don’t give a shit about dress code. They give a shit about having an excuse to be angry about something.

I guarantee if some GOPer showed up in a stained wifebeater with camo shorts and crocs, they would be celebrated as ‘just like us’ and ‘a hero of the people.’

I’m not making any claims that the Steamdeck is bad or not useful for anything. I’m merely stating that I personally have found no use case for it in my own life. I’m happy that you and others have.

The verbal levees have burst. There’s no filter anymore. It’s all saying the quiet part out loud.

I’ve never felt any need to use it. It doesn’t do anything my daily driver doesn’t except be a handheld console, and I don’t go anyplace where portability is needed. I bought it because it was a cool new tech thing, but I’ve never found a use for it.

I’ve played my Steam Deck exactly once since I bought it when it first released.

Theft has a very strict legal definition. Piracy is not legally theft. It is legally infringement, a separate crime. Conflating one with the other is propaganda by the largest IP holders.

These largest IP holders want nothing more than to lock up all culture and rent it back to you for a price, indefinitely. They would happily steal from you without a moment’s hesitation. In fact, they have stolen from you. They’ve successfully extended copyright terms to an absurd length, preventing works from entering the public domain for decades.

Many of these IP holders also don’t care about preservation. They’ll happily let their works be lost to history. Some are actively fighting against preservation.

Is it immoral to infringe? Yes. But IP holders don’t have the moral highground. They’re just as bad, if not worse. (I’m talking about the multi billion dollar companies here, not the small business persons struggling to get by)

Elon Musk doesn’t have the balls to do that.
