Edit 2: I find it funny how I've posted my voice a bunch in the past and yet fuckin' this is what has people messaging me thirsting over my voice. Friendly reminder. I'm gay. And now scared.
Don't get me wrong. I'm well aware that I post a lot considering I keep getting people ping me or message me saying "HOLY SHIT", and I'm always appreciative of it but like I'm small beans. Picard has more than me which makes sense considering Picard was the one who inspired me to start posting in places outside of my Star Trek corner. Sunshine has more comments than the entirety of !Canada@lemmy.ca has POSTS. Don't know PugJesus' counts but I'm assuming those comments are also way higher than mine. Same with Microwave.
I post more than I comment which... well I've gotten messages from people who call that arrogant lmfao
In Newfoundland you've got two types of people. Baymen and Townies. Just means whether you're from a rural, small town/village or you're from the capital City that is called St. John's. His accent is very Baymen, so thick and very Newfie. But he's speaking too clearly and enunciating too well. He's clearly someone who spends a lot of time in Town (What we call St. John's) or outside of Newfoundland. So if you are struggling to understand that then you would have a stroke if you ended up where I'm from. A town of 200 people... Our accent is brutal. I do voice stuff so I'm used to turning it on and off randomly. It's fun confusing Americans in group chats lol
I love Tom Cardy with every ounce of my being. I assume that's what that link is lmao. But I found this BG3 animation for the song and it instantly became my favorite. Evidently the insane looking one in this isn't the Durge. It's Tav. The other Dragonborn looking terrified is the Durge which leads to my favorite comment on that. "The Durge may kill people but he just witnessed the most horrifying thing in existence. A perfectly normal DnD player."
Definitely not a module. I've got a little voice thingy to like... "sell" the world or whatever that is a bit vague. At the time I was still planning a lot of stuff but a buddy wanted me to run a one-shot for him on his birthday so he could play instead of DMing for his group. So I came in as a guest DM. I made this really quickly and slapped it together but the type of vibe that I go for. The voice was also a single recording, normally not so... stuffy and ridiculous sounding. The writing was also slapdash because I had like 5 hours notice for the whole game so don't sue me too much lol
If you want to join in a game, I'm probably as safe as you're gonna get. At least all things considered. I've got a reputation riding on it lol that and the fact that I am AGGRESSIVELY protective of my players because they're also my friends. I don't tolerate people being a dick but I'm not the dude to just attack someone. Chats are more productive. And I run session 0s, or just little hang out sessions, to see how everyone vibes.
I have no problem with new players provided you're willing to learn, listen and be cooperative. It's easy to fall into a bit of main character syndrome but as long as you're willing to receive feedback then you are genuinely already going to be better than like... 60%, minimum, of other online players.
I've been fleshing out a world, nations, factions, gods, and various potential plotlines for the past year or so. Should be done in the next 1-4 weeks, likely sooner than later. If you're actually interested (or if anyone is), just shoot me a message. The only thing that I actively require from my players is a DnD Beyond account, a Discord account, a sense of humor, a spark of imagination and a goal to both play your story and uplift others in theirs. I cannot guarantee that you'll be able to play just by messaging, i'm going to end up interviewing people to an extent and judging vibes. Want to make sure everyone is chill and ready to get along with one another. But by all means, my messages are open.
Honestly they always are but no one ever messages me... Well outside of the occasional newbie who is trying to figure out Lemmy, sees my username a lot and goes "He probably knows how it works!" Which, fair. I do. Good person to ask lol
Newfoundland, or shortened as NFLD, is an island on the east coast of Canada. It's also where I'm from. We have a very distinct identity and culture both as people who live on an island as well as people who have an insanely distinct dialect/culture. I heard an Irish comedian describe us as an island full of "that weird Irish uncle everyone has". It's not totally wrong. Certain songs also heavily trigger the Newfie pride. One of those songs is called Heave Away, often called a Newfie Anthem. There are a couple of others, such as Rant and Roar, but this one gets brought up the most.
And then a bonus song of Excursion Around The Bay, a traditional Newfie song, also performed by Great Big Sea. Includes a very short interview about the song too - https://youtu.be/Kqz6mLRYHj4
Both of those songs are VERY indicative of everything about Newfoundland. Music means a lot to us.
If they're anything like me then each character they make is focused on a different facet of themselves or something they've dealt with. The rest bleed into it in more minor 'supporting' ways while one mental illness takes the main stage.
I just laughed so hard that I scared the cat. I did not expect that. Fucking hell lmfao
