Bruh, I only knew you made a comment because a friend pointed out the silliness of it.

That's what I meant in the description by two journalists in a single day.

This article is about Nick Stern, a british photojournalist, who was shot with a non-lethal round and had to have emergency surgery.

There is another article, with live video footage, of a cop in riot gear, completely unprovoked, shooting an Australian reporter in the back with a rubber bullet. Luckily for her, she was fine. Just sore. But make no mistake, that round at that distance could have caused considerably worse injuries or even killed her.

Unpopular Opinion: Y'all were never great. The country had one brief period of some sanity before it got dropkicked out the door by Reagan. The only difference between the United States and Russia is good PR and even better propaganda. The United States is offensive to common sense and human decency on every fundamental level, from it's inception until today. Things are just more obvious now. That's the only difference.

I had the same reaction when I read about this dude too. Just "Are you fucking kidding me?"

If this is what they're doing to people with cameras on them and reporters around them.... what are they doing to those who don't?

100% what happened. The uncropped video is plain as fucking day. He looks back and forth around the area and the second that she's turned and the camera looks around, he just fucking shoots her. Only way he could argue anything was thinking the camera was a gun. The giant bulky shoulder camera. If so, then dude doesn't deserve the ability to drive a CAR, never mind work in law enforcement.

She's just lucky she didn't end up like Nick Stern. A british photojournalist that was also shot today with "non-lethal rounds".

“People came over to help and got me on the curb. A medic was called, who cut off my clothes. In my leg was what felt like a five centimeter hole with muscle hanging out of it and blood all down my leg. The medic put a tourniquet on it, and a journalist I was with took me to ER. It hurt so much that I thought they might be firing live rounds,” he said. “I’ve been with non lethal rounds before. They hurt like hell but generally don’t break the skin. But the blood made me think it was a live round.”

I'm having a hard time thinking of a major American news institution at the moment that doesn't deserve to have a sledgehammer taken to its goddamn knees.

I'm not remotely surprised. When I was going to school here in Canada in like Year 9, I realized all the computers at the school had a logo on them that wasn't familiar as a computer company. It was, however, familiar as the oil company locally. All of the electronics in the school, which were fairly new, all had a logo of one of the three major companies in the area. No doubt tax write off stuff of upgrading computers and donating them to the school but the logo being on there always felt scummy as hell. It was large and prominent. They were openly advertising themselves to kids to get in their good graces before they were ever adults.

Making whole ass games was only the logical next step to target kids.

I suspect not as constantly exhausting. That's the thing that I don't think we realize about neurotypicals and that they don't realize about us. Just how much work it is running our fucking brains in such a "chaotic" manner.

Good god... Worst I've seen so far here in Canada (granted I'm on an island stuck 20 years behind everyone else) was the pump screen flashing to show a loyalty program like AirMiles or PC Optimum or something and none of them have audio.

Not even sure Russia has the capability to even fire anything long range at this point. Not even from Ukranian attacks, just from being fucking worthless. That being said... better safe than sorry. Not much more to fear than a cornered sociopath with nothing left to lose. Willing to take themselves down if it means even hurting you too. Not to mention the fact that Russian weapons might not work... but American ones do.
