That Pledge of Allegiance shit really worked.

My sister-in-law has them all throughout her house and I'm just like, "You know you have a teenage boy, right? You ready for that?"

My rule has always been simple. It I'm in its house (outside), it's not my business. If it's in my house, I have to make a choice. That choice was always smash (I'm arachnophobic), but my daughter has led me down the paragon path and I now save more than half of all spiders inside of my house. Maybe more. I don't get that many spiders in my house here in arid western Canada.

I feel like a broken record sometimes, but I am a left-leaning American living in Alberta for nearly a decade now. I watched first-hand the slow downward spiral of the American Republican party. I watched conservatives in my country become dumber and more impressionable with every election, absorbing the hate, the conspiracies, and the ridiculous rhetoric like a sponge.

I am now watching this same process play out here in Canada, albeit with a bit more resistance. I firmly believe that Canadians, as a whole, are more sensible and better educated than their North American counterparts. I don't say that with shade toward my fellow Americans, but the last election speaks volumes. But now with these tariffs I am surrounded by proud conservative Canadians who are angry at the Trump administration and the atrocities south of the border. They want to buy Canadian. They want to remain Canadian. And yet many of them are still proudly standing by Danielle Smith and the UCP.

I do believe there is a slow awakening taking place, but I'm fearful that it's not happening quickly enough. I'm fearful that if enough people do put their country over party and elect Carney, they'll eventually consume so much of the bullshit pie that they will do everything in their power to vote him out after a few years. I just hope that Canadians are not so forgetful.

When I was an adolescent, I dreamt that I performed oral sex on a woman by putting my entire head inside of her vagina. Turns out that cunnilingus is nothing like my premonition, but I certainly had the texture figured out.

I've always purchased this specific brand and am afraid to dabble in any others. I'm living in Canada so I don't know what the regulations are here, but the product is labeled as organic Echenacia extract and it seems to work well.

My wife and I found ourselves near Mt. Rushmore by happenstance durin a road trip several years back. We knew the history, but stopped in to see it for ourselves. We found it to be extremely shitty and underwhelming. The natural area behind the monument was incredible, and I absolutely understand why the indigenous people believed this place to be sacred, but the front was small, tacky, and depressing. I wish I could refund our admission and give it to some chill natives at a gas station instead.

I used to suffer extreme man colds as well, but losing the weight and quitting smoking/vaping did absolute wonders. Now when I get a cold I just rotate Acetamenophen and a low dose of Ibuprofen if I really need it, and take Echenacia 3x daily as though it's an antibiotic, despite wise internet sages needing to remind me every time that it's a placebo effect or their fucking heads will explode. Fortunately for me it's a placebo effect that yields excellent results, unlike the copious amounts of other alternatives I've entertained that didn't do shit for me.

I lived in the States for 30 years and Canada for 10. As an unofficial ambassador to both countries, I can confidently weigh in that you perfectly embody the American stereotype. You are loud, angry, spiteful, and removed. (starts with an R and ends with a D)

Immigration Canada: "Prove to us that your marriage is genuine. Prove that it wasn't for immigration purposes."

There was so much magic in this game. That soundtrack and overall atmosphere was incredible. I remember trying it in little bite-sized pieces at Toys R Us and the McDonald's lobby and being really blown away.

Nah. My brother, wife, my two best friends and one co-worker are the only ones who even know it exists, and that's because they know I use it as an alternative to reddit since the API fiasco. It's honestly pretty obscure, but I like it that way. I'd love to see larger niche communities, especially since r/stalker was one of the only places I could actively talk about my favorite game series, but Lemmy has been a far better experience overall.

I don't think I could handle it these days at age 37, but I miss staying up for days on Adderall in my early 20s, playing Skyrim and shit. There was no greater feeling of adventure. A lot of jacking off, too. Sometimes the jacking off got in the way.
