  • What's the difference between a chickpea and a garbanzo bean? Trump has never paid to have a garbanzo bean on him.

  • Suppose the blue portal is instead aligned parallel to and facing the ground. Maybe a 18" off the ground, a little higher than a person is wide. Additionally, the person is standing upright on the track.

In the above scenario, with the ground rushing at the person, does it suddenly "stop," with the person gently falling onto the ground? This is the same problem, I suppose, but from a different perspective.

Now, what if that blue portal is instead only 6" off the ground? Is the person embedded in the ground, or does the universe crash?

  • Portals don't abide by the laws of physics. Portal above + portal below = infinitely falling object (and thus infinite kinetic energy)

  • I like them, too. I only recently learned that we're not supposed to, for some reason. shrug I enjoy a good bit of their music.

  • If it's infinite (up to the current human population), we're all tied up on the tracks. Unless we're leaving out the exact number of people that would bring it to approximately the full population, I guess.

As long as I'm not on the tracks, I'll take the hit and kill one instead of risking a potential genocide.

  • What the hell? There is no possible (meaningful) reason for this...

  • I've got a bunch of red wasps around my house, and they're assholes. They're okay most of the time, unless you get too close. Every so often, though, they will be aggressive as hell, attacking you if you're within maybe 20 feet.

  • Ah, true. I've ended up with opossums more often than raccoons, though.

  • Eh, it scratches the itch. I don't touch reddit anymore, outside of web searches. Still, I miss the niche communities that only a massive site like reddit can give life.

  • Just set a bowl of cat food outside. You'll have a cat soon enough.

  • Without the trackpads, the Steam Deck would be considerably less useful. They open up a huge variety of games that would be practically unplayable with sticks alone. Disregarding them simply for more power is foolish.

  • Oh, I see, it's a money thing.

  • I like it, but the grease bothers my stomach now. It's frustrating.

  • Get out of my bedroom.

  • First off: normies?

Second, you're absolutely right. Steam did a great job with the whole Steam Deck Verified thing. It ensures that the game "just works", which is someone that can't always be said of PC games. It makes sense, given the near uniform hardware of the Deck, of course, but it's still important for reaching the console and/or casual gamer markets.

And let's face it, the Deck is just convenient as hell. It's the mobile gaming solution I've wanted for decades.
