Thanks, if I ever make it again there's a few things I'd do to improve it
1 make sure the puff pastry is not too thick on the ends. It didn't quite get fully cooked there
2 any ornamentation like those leaves I added should not be the highest part, put them more to the sides so they don't burn while the rest of the top browns
3 we made a giant crepe on a sheet pan in the oven rather than smaller ones in a pan which worked great but it could have been thinner
4 we sous vide'd the beef the day before and it was still quite cold when it went into the oven. It didn't end up getting fully heated through so it was cool to the touch in the middle. Still tasted great but if it was closer to room temp when it went into the oven maybe it would have fully warmed through
I followed the Gordon Ramsay recipe with french guy cooking Alex from youtube's modifications which are mainly to sous vide the beef beforehand (it turns out our instant pot has a sous vide function AND it actually works really well?!). I also made the crepe like Alex by making it as one huge crepe in the oven rather than multiple small ones in a skillet. Other than the crepe being a little too thick it turned out great!
They did make the leaf plus that has decent range with the same formfactor though. Also I'm quite sure the batteries are not in the trunk, unless that's where they put the extras in the plus version or something? Our 2015 leaf had significantly more trunk space than our brand new bolt despite being of similar dimensions. The bolt does have better rear leg room though.
The main issues with the leaf stem from not having any active heating/cooling for the battery and using an uncommon plug for level 3 charging that is going the way of the dodo. If you live in a temporate climate and don't need to fast charge for road trips the leaf is a totally acceptable car IMO.
He's also been going on about all kinds of conspiracy theories, appearing on foxnews, speaking at CPAC, etc. Other than the Kennedy name he doesn't seem appealing to Democrats at all as far as I can tell. Also his own siblings have spoken out against him.
The removal of borders on buttons. I don't know how many times I've been using a piece of software and haven't realized for a long while that some icon is actually a clickable thing and not just some UI decoration or something.
The removal of text in favor of icons. I hate having to memorize what all your icons mean in your app. Please just make text unless it's something insanely obvious. It's even worse when they neglect to put tool tips to tell you what the icon is supposed to mean
There's an interview with one of the researchers who found this on quirks and quarks last weekend. Quirks and quarks is a long running science show on CBC in Canada. Rather interesting, the scientist said at first they thought maybe the flood waters had washed the wood into that formation or something but there are apparently clear tool marks and signs it was deliberately formed.
What's up squib-fellow :) We did sprinkle the cheap parmesan on top. We bought some real grated parm but it stayed in fridge too long and went mouldy
