  • This highlights issues with A-I generated content crowding out human writers and the need for Google to better regulate such sites to ensure quality.”

Can agree with the first part of that statement, but Google regulating…feels like handing a fox the keys to the hen house.

Regulation of industry should be coming from our legislators, but they’re too busy polarizing their base, abasing themselves to donors and gilding their own cages to care.

Apologies for the rant, but this whole “AI” imbroglio is a textbook case of the cart put before the horse whilst heading downhill.

  • Thank you for the updates, loving both the app & the fediverse. Guess it’s one…well, only really, thing I can thank u/spez for.

One question though. Is there an auto-rotate setting I need to enable? Photos remain in portrait orientation currently.

edit: found its entry on Git, glad it’s on the radar.

Again, thanks for all your hard work.

  • I experience the same behavior and have found no system setting to alter it either. Maybe there’s a terminal or plist hack, but thru the UI, no.

    Here’s my work around.

Non-dominant hand toggles window from the keyboard, dominant hand clicks.

    Wish I had better news.

  • That’s exactly how I use it. The batch functions are killer and don’t neglect installing the full panoply of plugins, those make it the Swiss Army knife of viewers.

Also, the dev is a true prince, personally answered a question I had a decade ago and it was an awesome interchange.

  • The meat of the matter?

“Microsoft had said that Outlook.com and Exchange Online were the only applications known to have been affected via the token forging technique, but Wiz Research has found that the compromised signing key was more powerful than it may have seemed, and was not limited to just those two services. Our researchers concluded that the compromised MSA key could have allowed the threat actor to forge access tokens for multiple types of Azure Active Directory applications, including every application that supports personal account authentication, such as SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, customers’ applications that support the “login with Microsoft” functionality, and multi-tenant applications in certain conditions.

In addition, while Microsoft mitigated this risk by revoking the impacted encryption key and publishing attacker IOCs, we discovered that it may be difficult for customers to detect the use of forged tokens against their applications due to lack of logs on crucial fields related to the token verification process.”

  • That article has some spin loaded in there.

“Major Reddit moderators went dark last month in protest of the company’s announcement that it would be raising its API prices, saying it was necessary because…”

Bullshit bwana! They instituted OSFA pricing, when prior it was free.

Get the fucking facts straight before publishing, ya gits.

  • Sadly, there’s an excellent image viewer, that’s free, does exactly what you’re looking for, has been around since the 90’s, has a great support community, but it’s Windows only.

If you wanna try it in WINE, the name of the prog is IrfanView (after the coder’s name).

  • Holy shit, I am only a fraction of the way thru this article (which is both précis and review of the book “Owning the Sun…”) and have to step back and take a breath. The depth and import of information presented just thru Ch. 3 is both fascinating and repugnant.
