  • I still miss it so much. I'd take bottom or top, just to have that hole back. I have some amazing headphones, but they're like 20+ years old and now gathering dust.

I brought my favourite set of noise cancelling headphones with me after switching phones before I realized I had no devices to plug it into anymore.

  • Here in Canada, it's generally the same. Our Economy has almost always been strongest under Liberal led governments.

The Conservative's have always ran on "conservative fiscally" as a term, but often never have real plans than tax cuts and austerity for public services.

  • Side by side most of the time. I put them on arms so I can move them around and swivel them. It's ridiculous having two 34" Ultrawides. But, I can. So I Do. I also run a 3rd 40" 4k display when I need it or want to sit further back.

  • Going to be a toss-up between two of my own cars.

1992 Cavalier convertible Z24 I bought for pennies as my first own car. Had 420,000km on it and grabbed it and it's papers from some sketch dealer.

Looked good enough on the outside for it's purpose of having fun. Roof worked. And it had a v6. But it fell apart fast (and a lot due to my own shenanigans). Stearing became so off that I had to turn left to stay straight. The heater died, I live in Canada. The seat's support broke, so I used an old set of goalie pads propped against the back seat to keep my seat upright. The dashboard lights were blown, so I had a ducked tape flashlight on my headrest to light my dash up. More than ounce, I'd have to pull a fuse and put it back in while cruising on the highway.

Second worse was the off the lot brand new 02 Sunfire my parents forced me to buy to replace the above shitbox due to it's safety. For fuck sakes I despised this car. Despite how bad the cavalier was, it was FUN and quirky. The Sunfire was just a poorly made shitbox with zero power, and non-stop electrical failures the day I took it off the lot.

  • you know what is boiling my birches in all this shit.

every single province can over-ride the federal carbon tax by putting in place their own Carbon program.

the fact that the provinces are spending so much time and effort to fight the backstop carbon tax, while at the same time doing zero, or worse instead of putting in place their own measures is disgusting

shows that our premieres are purposely riling up morons and climate deniers while sitting on their asses pushing conservativism.

Ontario paying the Federal carbon tax is 100% Doug Ford's fault. and the same with every other premiere who doesn't have their own carbon program

  • The problem is world power. Economic power is the power of the day, and to have it, you need population. The biggest powers in the world have hundreds of millions of people. Our closest ally and neighbour has over 400,000,000 people.

we can either, grow our population and therefore our basic economic engine capabilities with that, or, not participate in the leadership at a world stage (like the G7).

That's the existential question you have to ask. what do you want for Canada?

  • Does not matter what "majority" want in this regard, even if this is one of those usual conservative dog whistle topics.

The constitution, Charter of Rights and courts are there to protect us from majority rule. And they have all stated, numerous times, that the death penalty is strictly unconstitutional.

It is not coming back and these stupid "polls" to push "simple" and "common sense" style questions.

  • OR

    Get this.

It's completely irrelevant and spending that much time and mental effort on it is not a thing that warrants as much focus and attention you've put on it.

this focus on her ass is bizarre and borderline creepy.

  • I would stay away from perfumes and things that are heavily scented. you never know what allergies or reactions they might have to that. Also lots of people really find those things offensive.

unless you already know she likes a specific perfume, stick to something from the heart or simple like a nicer box of chocolate.

  • I'm sure she did all that for you because she's one of the good teachers and expects absolutely zero back from you.

A simple note, and maybe a small gift (Chocolate as other mentioned is fine, but maybe a small permanent thing. if you shared your love of something with her, maybe something related?

but the note is probably the thing that will mean the most to her. Especially if you write it from the heart.

as for you and your changes. What a tremendous amount of growth you've exhibited here. You've clearly learned and improved yourself. your writing is very well done and thoughtful.

congrats on your personal growth. I am just an older dude on the internet (probably your dad's age) and I can only say that based on what you've written here, I am proud of you.

  • Loved BG3. but it was the hit it was because it was done by people who love the D&D world and didn't attempt to live up to any specific monetary goals, nor did it rush out to try and beat some arbitrary deadline. it was done in the old style of development, by a relatively small team over long periods of time to showcase their labour of love.

given the history of D&D the company itself and it's more recent copyright monetization and attacking the playerbase for profit, I cannot see them pumping out other games that are anywhere CLOSE to what Larian produced.

Wee're going to get a whole lot of bullshit shovelware trying to ride BG3's excellence.

this is why we can't have nice things :(

  • Absolutely. it's a bad precedent.

Minimum wage staff still get tips though. I still tip here now that it's mandatory they get paid min wage. Overall, means that they make more than before they were earning min wage as well.

it's a big win. They ge ta living wage doing their jobs and they get bonuses in tips on top of their living wage instead of relying upon it.

  • I got chased down the street on my first day by someone I tipped. I didn't know it was actually taboo. Apparently tipping is an insult. The staff chased me down on the street to return it to me.

  • Employees who won't be able to make a living will go elsewhere. it's not easy and instant, but eventually if a restaraunt can't staff itself, it will collapse.

We should absolutely not be subsidizing restaraunt owners who are only keeping a float by paying low wages. if they can't afford to properly pay their staff, they don't deserve to operate.
