When I was playing Resident Evil 2 as a kid, I was really invested in Sherry, the kind of annoying, little girl side character that you have to escort around.
The fact that this zombie apocalypse game trojan-horsed a family drama into its plot was fun, and 12 year old me, who always picked the boy character when playing Pokemon, because I felt like I had to, was confronted with a lot of confusing feelings when RE2 made me play as Sherry.
I think permanently carving the faces of a bunch of genocidal slave owners into an indigenous people's sacred mountain, is infinitely more offensive than a marginalized group temporarily putting up a flag.
Indigenous folks opinions about the pride flag protest are most certainly varied. Collapsing all indigenous Peoples has having a single opinion is the real white people behavior.
Meh, I travel a fair bit, and go hiking quite a lot, and keep a little pouch with a bunch of essentials in it, in my bag. Among those things are some caffeine pills. They're light, cheap, and easily accessible when I need them.
I was never a coffee fan, but I do drink tea, and sometimes that experience is just plainly more pleasant than popping a pill.
I mean, I suppose not, but neither do must forms of art. Amateurism, real or percieved, is even a hallmark of many genres, like punk for instance.
But that's kind of missing the forest for the trees. For the poster to look at a genre that is historically dominated by white people (and one with a history of far-right politics at that), and contrast it as requiring more talent to produce than a predominantly black genre of music... Let's just say that raises some alarm bells.
Sees teenagers doing dumb shit, like they have since literally forever
"Is this a plot by the despotic orientals?!"
Fucking listen to yourself. I'm not on TikTok. I just don't care for vertical short-form video as a concept. But even I can tell you that not every TikTok trend is teenagers being destructive idiots.
I've been to many a protest, and those put on by liberals (as compared to those put on by further left organizations), aren't so much focused on leveraging any kind of power, so much as they're focused on the aesthetic act of protest.
It's protest as a way to cleanse oneself of the sins of the moment. To say that you "Did something" whether or not that something had any material impact. It's about feeling good, not doing good.
Dare I suggest that the reason for twitter becoming so right wing, is that it's a centralized social media website, subject to the crazed far right whims of the capitalist who bought it...

Anyway, I'm Transgender now.
