Nobody wants to waste time and gas money going to the library to print a few pages. Our library also charges to print. We do about 20-30 pages a month at home and it costs us about $50 year for ink and paper. It’s worth it for the convenience.
Makes sense, a bunch of stuff on twitter is broken. We’ve had embedded twitter feeds (most recent 2 or 3 posts) on our work websites for years and they broke that functionality in June. I guess they didn’t want the extra traffic from website embeds?
Yeah my work just switched payroll companies and they want us to download an app to do timesheets and stuff. No way in hell that's going on my phone. A least it works in desktop browsers too.
Still use reddit and twitter for sports news and updates and a few fringe topics and I read only. Shut down my reddit account around 2019 and only have a twitter account because its a pain to view stuff if not logged in. Have never posted anything there.
I heard about something called Open Core Legacy Patcher the other day which is supposed to allow updates for older macbooks but I have not tried it yet.
If you are into fishing, hunting, cooking, and a a bit of Southwest history check out Sin City Outdoors. They have family friendly content. For outdoor recovery Matts Off Road Recovery is good and Heavy D Sparks sometimes has great content if you don’t mind fast forwarding a bit.
For food/bbq a few that I like Guga Foods, Mad Scientist BBQ, First We Feast (hot ones), and Munchies.
Lots of good tech channels depending on your interests but here are a few smaller ones I like. Matt Moniz does good laptop reviews, Brandon Butch digs deep into every iOS release, All Things One Place only reviews power adapters and cables.
Thunderbolt 2 can support a single 4K monitor and they still make TB2 external storage devices. Apple makes a bidirectional adapter that will allow some 3&4 devices to work with a 2 port but every device is different and most will not be officially supported. Link to adapter is https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MMEL2AM/A/thunderbolt-3-usb-c-to-thunderbolt-2-adapter
I would not add a TB2 card to an older machine though. Just find an adapter that works with the fastest port on that machine. There are plenty of devices that work well with usb3.
Type C is the connector which can either be power only, power and data, power data and video, or thunderbolt which is basically faster power data and video. You can’t really burn out the port with the wrong device or charger, it either won’t charge, charge slowly, or not work.
Thanks for the update and keep up the good work! It seems like reddit went down a few times a week regularly for years. I have to think that some state sponsored actors are responsible for some of this. I’m sure that some topics being discussed here are not in line with the values of many regimes.
So there are a few things to check. It is possible your new power supply is not compatible with the gpu, or not actually putting out the wattage they claim, or the connection to your gpu is bad, or its just having issues. Or maybe the new motherboard has a compatibility issue with the gpu or a technical issue with the port. Could need a bios update or maybe a driver update. It could also be overheating due to the change of fans causing poor airflow. Just throwing a few things out there, happy troubleshooting.
Looks like a good midnight snack!
