Of course the marketing dept of large companies and sports leagues work directly with reddit. They also have the ability to sponsor and boost organic posts, place top comments etc…
Well yes but this foreign company is using the water to grow a product that is exported. Foreign companies who are doing the same thing to sell locally may get screwed by this, but I’m not sure how many would be affected.
Because its still the best (or only) place to get specific news and updates immediately. I mainly follow various sports teams, athletes, and small sports media people. I tried the same on Mastadon but most people are not there. I have not posted anything in many years.
This biometric stuff is no good though and I will not be participating in that.
Screw them, people use these sites because they do blackouts and regional deals and other nonsense then expect you to buy an expensive plus or ultra subscription or PPV.
This is a strange thing to have in a public school especially suggesting that a chaplain can replace a counselor. Most private religious based schools have both.
A lot of boomers are also occupying homes much larger than necessary. I live in an older suburb of 1950s houses so its a mix of older people and younger families. Of my immediate neighbors at least 12 of 30 homes are single old people or couples living in 3 or 4 bedroom homes with yards. These are good neighbors because they are quiet and rarely seen but completely wasting space that families could be living in.
Here is an old link about sponsored posts https://www.marketingdive.com/news/reddits-new-ad-program-will-let-brands-sponsor-organic-posts/423434/
And directly from the source https://www.reddit.com/r/announcements/comments/4upf11/new_ad_type_promoted_user_posts/?rdt=45084
The program has certainly changed since then though
