Same! I loved Matt once he started becoming a master general and strategist. But the other 999 characters were not worth suffering through to get to his chapters.

Are you referring to how he reads Odetta/Detta's voices?

Twins! But I hated the protagonist more than the book's quality.

Try listening to it as an audio book. It's really great if someone else pushes you through the dry parts.

A series, but The Wheel of Time becomes insufferable around book five. There's like five chapters of lore/world building for every sentence that moves the plot forward. Also, the worst protagonist in the history of book writing. The side characters are the only reason I made it to book five.

Not to mention, buying local is better quality and cheaper.

I once got in an argument with a coworker that it is unacceptable to choose work over being a parent, in that it's not enough to just work and bring money home, but you have to actually spend quality time with your children. She got very upset that I was critical of "hard workers" that "put food on the table."

I can get a lunch combo with a burger, fries, and a coke for $8 at a local joint that's far superior to anything McDonald's serves. They priced themselves out of being competitive.

You're thinking Bezos yachts, these are $50-200$k boats people use as homes to see the world, not rich people. The word yacht doesn't mean wealth, it's just not a common mode of transportation.
