Because it's easier to use 5:15 or 5:30 when you get a digital readout. No one's counting every individual tick on an analog clock, so fractions make more sense in that case.

No need to get offended. Maybe I misunderstood the intent behind your original message. I think you made a lot of good points.

I brought up the Markov chain because a common misconception I've seen on the Internet and in real life is that LLMs work pretty much the same as Markov chains under the hood. And I saw no mention of neural networks in your original comment.

That's a huge oversimplification of the way LLMs work. They're not statistical in the way a Markov chain is. They use neural networks, which are a decent analogy for the human brain. The way the synapses between neurons are wired is obviously different, and the way the neurons are triggered and the types of signals they can send to other neurons is obviously different. But overall, similar capabilities can in theory be achieved with either method. If you're going to call neural networks statistics based, you might as well call the human brain statistics based as well.

ChatGPT is great for helping with specific problems. Google search for example gives fairly general answers, or may have information that doesn't apply to your specific situation. But if you give ChatGPT a very specific description of the issue you're running into it will generally give some very useful recommendations. And it's an iterative process, you just need to treat it like a conversation.

No, I think the other commenter is right. They definitely store every version of every comment on their backend. Just because it's not displayed publicly doesn't mean they don't have the data.

I like how you didn't respond to the points I made about either ChatGPT or midjourney. ChatGPT has a number of large corporate customers now that use it as a tool in the creation of professional products. And midjourney is still going strong and is widely used, which is why I mentioned the Superbowl.

Yes, gemini images are on pause until they fix the vulnerabilities to abuse. But I use Gemini as the engine for Google assistant on my phone now, so the service is obviously still gaining traction.

AI is going great though, unlike web3. ChatGPT has already achieved mainstream adoption at a large number of major companies. And there were ads using images generated with midjourney at the super bowl.

I love Linux, but it's extremely annoying how many threads there are showing a mildly annoying and optional feature in Windows with 10 people replying "Use Linux!". As if Linux doesn't have a ridiculous number of UX problems itself.

I like USB-C. The connector is significantly better than micro USB. It forms a tighter connection and can be plugged in in either direction. It allows for significantly faster charging and significantly higher data rates than micro USB. But it is a jack of all trades with a fairly loose standard, so manufacturers can implement what attributes they see fit. Overall, I think it's a big improvement.

It's fairly common. People with money hire contractors to do the work for them. People that want to save money tend to DIY it. But redoing bathrooms is quite common.
