  • “The UK is not part of the EU. They are upset by the use of the word Malvinas. If they were in the EU perhaps they would have pushed back against it.”

  • Its going to rust and if you don't keep it painted, it's going to rust even worse. If you insulate the inside, you won't be able to treat the rust on the inside because it will be hidden.

    I'd not insulate inside.

  • Horrible laws written mostly by men against women. Men who will never and have never been affected by what they are prohibiting.

    It's so gross and infuriating.

  • The code currently doesn't have any timed locking feature. Perhaps one day, but not any time soon I would guess.

  • Not everything needs to be an investment. It is ok to enjoy your property and do what you want with your house.

If you can afford the costs and the future expenses are within your budget, then go for it.

Metal garages require more upkeep and need to be properly insulated to be more than a shelter. Insulating them makes the interior upkeep harder. It's a tradeoff.

  • The current wave of new users is over. Its just us here now.

There will not be another big jump in users until Reddit pisses people off again. That won't be until the summer is over, at least. It will happen, just not right away.

Now is the time to let lemmy have its growing pains. Release anything and everything. We can handle it.

  • After Bill Clinton played the saxophone on the Arsenio Hall Show, all candidates should have stopped trying to show off for voters. Hard stop.

John Kerry shouldn't have played the guitar for people. Pete Buttigieg shouldn't play the piano. Obama shouldn't sing anywhere but the shower.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., John Delaney, Tom Cotton , Chuck Grassley, Bill Nelson and Strom fucking Thurmond looked silly doing pushups.

Jamaal Bowman looked weird bench-pressing 405 pounds.

Sharice Davids and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez equally looked whack doing pushups.

Marjorie Taylor Greene tried to show off doing some butterfly pull-ups - it looked incredibly like a combination of cross fit and someone taking a dump.

Paul Ryan demonstrating some bicep curls in a backward hat was possibly the most awkward political “gym bro” image of all time.

No one wants to see someone elected supposedly for the ideas in their brain try to convince us they're one of us. We don't care. Just get back to work and pass Universal Healthcare, Music Lessons for all or at least a nationally dicounted gym membership.

The political talent and strength show mic drop moment occurred on June 3, 1992. No one should ever attempt to beat it.

  • It's the Amazon model the French were fighting against.

Amazon killed a lot of retail by offering cheap / below cost shipping and at cost goods to attract customers and squeeze out brick and mortar retailers. Now that Amazon has hooked people and retailers have gone out of business, Amazon raised prices. The deals arent there and the products are more expensive.

These dark stores would have undercut real grocery stores until there were far fewer physical stores. Then, once people relied on them, they would have jacked up the delivery fees, reduced the variety of goods and charged as much as an in person grocery used to.

  • Yes, because the truth matters. It will always matter.

Steven King using his Bachman alias is infinitely better than a celebrity author lending their name to someone else's work. An alias is dishonest but usually done so as to not distract. A ghostwriter is fraudulently using a known name to get you to buy something.

  • She looks sad and upset in her booking photo. I feel bad for her NOT AT ALL.

  • So under his leadership it became more about positive results than it was about accurate results.

    That's not science, that's marketing.

  • 23 years ago offices buildings were not locked. No doors were locked. Zero. You didn't need a badge to be in the building. Now in most places you swipe through every single door and you need a badge on a lanyard.

  • People who care that you're a non drinker are people with problems that you generally dont want to be a part of.

  • Because when people think things couldn't get much worse, they are always proven wrong.

You keep fighting to make things better because they will always find another level below rock bottom. You don't fight for the status quo. You don't fight expecting perfection. You fight to let them know you're going to keep fighting and that you're never going away.

  • Everything is broken, so let's allow the people breaking things to break even more things. Then once absolutely nothing works, surely then someone else will make things better.

Yours is a lazy argument from a do nothing slacktervist point of view.

  • For a country that's already fallen off the population cliff, they surely won't be fixing their future problems by letting foreigners in.

Guess they will have to become a weak country of retirees before anything changes.

  • Editing bug. Before this comment, it says 3 comments but there are only 2.

    The issue is inconsistent.

  • Be like me and be team asteroid landing on their next face to face argument.

  • I think the increase in really good tasting non alcoholic beer and spirits is telling.

I quit drinking last September and it was the best thing for my mental and physical health I ever did. Lemmy.world/c/stopdrinking has so many people who quit drinking for reasons other than hitting rock bottom.
