Tankies are permanently stuck in backwards day. Left is right and right is left. They do this because they're just fascists that don't like to be associated with other fascists. So they call their fascist group "leftist", but they hate democracy, liberalism, the jews, etc just as much as any other fascist.

Yeah this is more of a situation where because more applications are built for windows you're more likely to encounter poor quality application level software on windows than on Linux. Especially if you stay within the walled garden that most distros provide.

People see a pattern with having a lot more problems with applications on windows than they do on linux and wrongly assume it's because of the OS.

Yeah it will be much worse since so many things people use are a lot more technologically advanced and therefore more complicated to replace. Like my grandfather was a young man in the 1930s and he used a horse for transportation. Didn't have a landline phone much less a smartphone. Much easier to replace imports with domestic production when most people just needed food and maybe electricity.

Yup. There's a significant cost to having a war with a country you do a lot of trade with. You don't want to pay that cost while having a war at the same time. That could lead to economic collapse. It could even result in your military lacking the resources need to execute the war.

But if you sever trade beforehand, pay the costs of that first, then once your economy has stabilized you can invade other countries without risking economic collapse.

California should be it's own country. It's got a higher population than Canada and a much larger economy. They'd no longer need to continue subsidizing states that are happy when the guy they put into power denies them emergency aid in a disaster. They could have their own emergency relief fund they'd administer themselves, and they could set their own immigration policy.

I don't know about that... the primary motivation of Riddick in the second one was to help the girl from Pitch Black. She's in the prison mentioned in Pitch Black because she wanted to get eyes like Riddick had, which was something she asked about in Pitch Black. He finds out where she is from the priest from the first one. The Necromonger plotline was new, but that plotline and the prison plotline felt like they were from different movies.The Necromonger plotline was abandoned in the third movie (which was disappointing since I liked that part) and the third movie has more in common with Pitch Black than the previous Chronicles of Riddick movie.

I think it's more accurate to say the Necromonger plotline in the second movie was the outlier in the series. Which is unfortunate since I would've like to see where that went, but it wasn't a good fit for a "Vin Diesel is an awesome baddass" kind of movie.
