  • This is a genius move by the creators of Wayland. By not having any feature whatsoever but instead relying on compositors to do anything even if not related to windows management, they can deflect all criticism!

  • I can't believe an objectively true claim gets downvoted.

  • Not in languages where you don't manually handle memory, such as PHP, SQL, Python... Higher-level languages using 0-indexed arrays are letting the abstraction leak.

  • I just checked, and OSM has it as Persian Gulf, with the alternative name Arabian Gulf.

  • Is this another ReactOS situation, or does this have a chance to actually become usable as a daily driver?

  • Steam has the worst launcher, except all the others.

  • True, but nothing was stopping the public company from lowering their prices and improving their service.

  • I like nationalising industries, but here in France, privatizing France Telecom made Internet and phone prices much lower.

  • Electricity isn't a "basic necessity". Humanity survived for thousands of years without it.

Cloud saves are a basic feature of any modern game. It's extremely easy to add on Steam without even having to implement it in the game. It's just configuration, so not having access to the original source code isn't an issue.

  • But... the defenders of multi billion dollar corporations told me that I was a crybaby for not wanting to create an account at a company who has had several outages and security incidents over the years. I can't believe they were wrong.

  • Windows is easy, bro, you just need to run this shady PowerShell script to get rid of ads, run this random EXE from github.ru to disable telemetry, install ClassicShell to make the UI actually usable, install a million utilities for basic features (each from a separate site, of course ; the centralized Windows Store is full of malwarei), then pray sfc /scannow fixes your system after every update.

BTW, don't bother searching for a solution to your problems other than "retry, reboot, reinstall" ; even certified MS professionals don't know how anything works.

  • Cries in btrfs

Seriously, how can a FS be so unstable? I have to restore backups once a month on my NAS because btrfs crapped its pants and went into an irrecoverable state.

  • That was 2020.

    However, somehow, Palpatine Trump returned.

  • No, the cave thing happened in 2018, but the Cybertruck was announced late 2019.

  • Yes, they did that to mock Twitter. There's no limit to how many you can buy, and each one gets a different color so it makes a rainbow.

  • Article IV Section 3 of the US constitution

New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new State shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or Parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress.

If a state agrees, a new state can be formed in its territory, effectively splitting it.
