  • Perfect timing! Just found this little guy in my garage and took him outside.

  • If Hollywood wants to succeed in today's landscape of lowering box office revenues then it needs to invest in several original low budget movies that employ lesser-known actors. While not all will be winners I'm sure those that surpass expectations would more than make up for the cost of producing so many films. Maybe they should also have less meddling by producers who constantly demand expensive reshoots.

  • Glad they didn't have the usual "Maybe later" button and you have a means to block it out completely.

  • There's a cyberpunk novel called Feed in which some teenager got a trendy Nike tattoo that would force him to say "Nike" in every sentence. I think that's the next step in our deliberate effort to pay for the privilege of branding ourselves.

  • That should be illegal, it's like using counterfeit cash that only needs to fool your server long enough until you're out of the restaurant.

  • The average Republican voter is the scientist?

  • The moral of the story in the Tower of Babel was that even God fears unions.

  • TBBT can be an okay show if you don't mind the overused surface level nerd culture references, casual misogyny, and Elon Musk's appearance. Other than that it can be a guilty pleasure of mine.

  • They knew this over a hundred years ago when Upton Sinclair reported on it and motivated the government to found the FDA. It made everyone more disgusted about what was in their food rather than the cost of human misery workers paid to produce it. Why do people forget the lessons of the past?

  • All these jokes about guillotines is getting old. Either shit or get off the pot.

  • The quality of oatmilk varies wildly based on the brand. I'm not a fan of Kirkland or Oatly but Califia and Silk are delicious.

  • "Hello hotline? I've been feeling pretty blue lately and thought about dyeing that way. Can you give me any tips to be sure I don't mess it up?"

  • America will make up for it somehow. With the way we're cutting regulations here, our environment will be loaded with heavy metals and carcinogens in no time.

  • Simple. Just brush the spider off the telescope's aperture.

  • Do it

  • The Perpendicular Waltz in my ass.

  • It works remarkably well for a lot of things if you put a little effort into it. Depending on the distro, you might have a little more trouble trying to fix something. For my use case it can do gaming, CAD, office work, and some light programming just fine with some quirks and tradeoffs. Lemmy in general is a good place to ask troubleshooting questions too

  • They do sometimes. It's just that the originals can be easily improved with some free mods most of the time.

  • This. There are too many loopholes and glaring problems written into the very code of the government that allows two parties to hold power and not represent the will of the people in a balanced way. The Constitution needs a heavy overhaul for the needs and challenges of the 21st century and beyond. The founding fathers also didn't want a single document to stay stagnant in perpetuity.

  • In my neck of the woods onigiris were redubbed as "popcorn balls".
