The problem with using YT videos is that they are transitory. Also, you're then subjecting your reader to somebody else's advertisements for their gain.
I run BicBucStrim on my NAS, and I access it through the web browser of any PC or tablet, my Kobo eReader, or Mobiscribe eReader. You can download a book to the device to read it, though. It basically just generates a nice web layout to access your Calibre library.
Every generation before Gen X was conceived without The Pill being available. The fact that it did not exist has nothing to do with why there were more Boomers than there were Greatest Generation or Silent Generation.
The Pill became available right as the first wave of Boomers came of age. They were the first generation to have it available when they were at that college/marriage age. The Pill didn't end Boomers. The Pill is why there are so many fewer Gen Xers; because Boomers used The Pill. There was slower uptake among the parents.
They do, and they should get on with that, and start ignoring people who don't agree with them, their lifestyle, or use of language. You cannot enforce your own ideas about your identity on anyone else, because they are also entitled to have their own ideas. All a person can do is just live. Celebrity opinions are not law, and should not be paid such attention as if they matter.
But the other federated instance is essentially mirroring it. Another instances users are not using Lemmy.world directly, they are viewing mirrored content, and then if they reply, they are doing it elsewhere, and it is getting passed on to L.W.
How was this handled for Usenet? I think it was just assumed that if you were propagating Usenet Content, you knew that implied diversity positive and negative.
I finally suffered through the first 4 seasons of Babylon 5 this year. While there are good moments, the production values, writing, and acting are just not on a level with DS9. It felt like watching a big 3 network soap opera in space a lot of the time, with that same type of acting style. A couple of characters were great, but that's it. DS9 was just a better made show all around. Babylon 5 proves that you can have great ideas, but if the entire production situation doesn't come together in an equally high quality way, you aren't going to get an equally good result that will hold up over time the same way.
I just know that stoneware dishes that I have hand made and fired ( wedging the air out of the clay extremely well) do not ever have this problem, but the light weight, aerated slip cast stuff from mass market stores often does. It cuts across all colors and types of glazes. It really very much seems to be the density of the clay the vessel is made from, which is just another way to say, how aerated it is. The same thing is also observable when it is a dish I have hand made and fired from porcelain, which is why I've assumed it is technique/physical construction and not the actual clay or glaze type. Perhaps instead it is the amount of total vitrification of the clay, which would also affect the density of the finished vessel as well.
Depending what you want, you can do this very simply:. Create an SMB network share on the PC. It can be password protected or not. Doesn't matter what OS, really (Windows, OSX, Linux). Then, on your Android phone, use an app like Solid Explorer or any other network capable file manager app that you like. Add the share to your file explorer app. After that, you can copy files just like the network share is a USB flash drive or SD card, or any other drive. It is taking advantage of stuff already built into your PC OS.
There is nothing in that page you linked about lead causing plates to get hot. Also, you know nothing about the plate age or composition. Lead glaze is irrelevant to plates heating, and not all existing dishes have lead in them.
