  • The idea is to not manage programs by hand to avoid messes.

The multiple solutions come from various needs, but it's more of an underlying complexity of installation than a real intent to have so many.

Ideally we would need one clean package manager that handles everything without ever having to tinker with installation paths and various methods.

  • The article itself explains why. It indicates that it's not Google's first time trying to overhype something, and that the actual consequences of this event - assuming that it even happened as they describe it - is minimal or none.

  • Containers are fine but docker is a pain in the ass that lazy people use when they don't want to provide clean installation/packaging.

How many times have I seen an equivalent of "we use a custom fork of an obsolete version of an unmaintained package, so if you want to compile it yourself good luck because we forgot how we even did it. Alternatively, you can install the docker version"...

  • Ah, so you see a lot of efforts to fight rapists? I don't, on the contrary most celebrities are now linked to some form of sexual assault and everyone defends them.

Also, if we were to do both, please explain to me how showing gender as such a major thing that you need to discriminate based on it, would make anything better in a world where rapists would actually be fought against,

  • No need to reach as far as islam, with every rape story you have a crowd of shits that rush screaming "she wouldn't have been raped if she wore proper clothes" and the like. The simple facts that rape victims feel ashamed to even talk about it shows that there is a big problem of defending rapists rather than victims, and the victims are instead shown as the cause of the assault.

  • You can have beliefs. But most religions are actively anti-LGBT, so you are in a bit of a pickle here. Associating yourself with an intolerant group is going to attract hostility for people who fight intolerance. And the paradoxical situation you seem to be here leaves you on the wrong side of both sides.

If your beliefs are proper beliefs (and not weird crap from religions) no atheist can ever have an argument against that.
