  • I think it's important that people shoot him down using actual facts and reason, then otherwise ignore him. If it keeps just one ambivalent person from believing his lies, it's worth it. Propagandists like him rely on a lack of pushback to spread their lies.

  • Ahhh! So, by your justification, if a group of people were to universally support a terrorist group (which the Palestinians don't), then that's justification to kill every single man, woman, and child in that group. It's justification to ask non-combatants to relocate to so-called "safe"areas, then to bomb those safe areas. By your criteria, every United States citizen is also deserving of death.

All your argument really shows is that you think genocide is acceptable under certain conditions (and that you're a terrible person).

  • Classic Trump supporter here, posting sources that contradict their point as supporting their point because, out of eight statements, one weakly suggested peace while the other seven weakly suggested insurrection.

This is how con men win over the critical thinking challenged crowd.

  • Aww, sweet little babies. I love possums and their goofy little Tim Burtonesque faces. We have a resident possum who trundles around our property at night. I give them pancakes when I can.

Edit: here's the link to the full video of the baby possums in the GIF.

  • This is correct. I'm a Prius driver. I get 45-55 mpg on the highway, depending on conditions. If it's just city driving, I get 55-65 mpg. I've had as high as 72 mpg, many years ago driving Uber downtown.

  • And then the next generation of israelis will ask themselves how they became the way they are.

I think you're giving them WAY too much credit. Your comment made me think of all the Americans I've met who actually believe the United States is a benevolent peacekeeper who altruistically polices the world and anyone who protests US Imperialism is simply ungrateful and just looking for a handout.

The Zionists I've met make these people look clear-headed and rational.

  • Great question. When it comes to utility billing, efficiency doesn't factor at all. Just like with electric billing, the utility company gives zero shits about what you do with your energy. They just bill you for everything you use.

Utility companies keep track of the volume used in cubic meters and convert it to kWh using the formula...

Volume (in cubic meters) • Calorific value (usually around 37-42) • 1.02264 (correction factor) ÷ 3.6 (conversion factor to kWh) = kWh

The calorific value accounts for the varying energy density of natural gas caused by its inconsistent composition. The correction factor accounts for the effects of the average temperature and pressure at the property on gas volume measurement. 1.02264 is standard for most locations but would be different if the location is extreme, like the high elevation of Machu Picchu.

What sucks about gas heating is some of the heat energy released leaves with the exhaust. The heating efficiency varies depending on the unit but is generally 90-95% for newer units but as low as 50% for older units. While 90-95% doesn't seem bad, electric heat pumps achieve efficiencies that exceed 100%, even as high as 300+%.

  • I really wish they weren't, but I also agree with them.

  • For tracking expenses, I use an app called You Need a Budget (YNAB). It's pretty handy and is great for showing you where all your money goes.

  • I mean, posting easily disproven drivel made it pretty clear you're a sheep, but I appreciate the demonstration.

  • It's an easy conversion - 1 kWh is equal to 3412 Btus. In Germany, both electricity and natural gas are charged in kWh. I know a fair bit about energy measurement if you have any questions.

  • I do think it's pretty funny he again proved my point for me.

  • Lol. This is a classic case of knowing enough to think you're right but not knowing enough to know you're wrong.

  • It's always hilarious when someone pulls the "you let this guy live rent free in your head" card about the greatest current threat to American democracy. Yes, we should just pretend he doesn't exist. It's almost always followed by one or more arguments that show they lack even a surface level understanding of the details of the situation. This post manages to live up to that 'standard'.

This is what happens when you have an uneducated populace. A lack of critical thinking skills leads to the adoption of nonsensical viewpoints based on emotion instead of reason. When those viewpoints are challenged, they're similarly met with typically meaningless, emotion-driven responses (a la "he lives in your mind rent free") as the adopters lack the capacity to respond with reason.

  • It was comically incompetent but almost successful. They had a practice run, the next time will be better (for them) if we let this continue. Gotta rip the bandage off at some point.

  • For example, I literally have COVID right now so I'm stuck at home. I'm running out of food (I got sick on the day I do my weekly shopping) plus I don't want to cook or drive because I feel like twenty pounds of shit in a ten pound sack. My wife has work, school, and two stupid dogs to care for, so she's already stretched, plus I don't want her to push herself harder in case SHE gets sick too. I usually get our own food but I'm happy to pay someone to deliver right now.

  • Goddamn I miss that. Restaurants and bodegas within walking distance of your apartment.
