  • Why would they want to "fix" it?

I want Twitter to fail for how it's turned, but until shown otherwise, bluesky is another closed system. It's better than Twitter and I hope they prove me wrong.

  • You're trying to understand the logic behind motivated reasoning. They knew the conclusion they wanted, so they constructed a fig leaf of an argument that 1/3 of people would cheer, 1/3 would defer to the tortured logic by habit of deference to authority, and 1/3 would protest while being alienated from the whole.

  • doesn't make sense

  • More like an oligarch class makes a fertile ground for hate. They weaken the people and institutions that look to build people up, while grow those that siphon away opportunity, the earnings of the middle class, and finally hope.

They decorate this denuded landscape with their own twisted vision and the desperate don't see a choice, by design.

We'll see how true it is, that "you can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time."

  • I'm kinda wondering where these insurance or healthcare companies are at. This is literally taking billions out of their pocket as people will just go without healthcare and/or die.

I guess they're looking out for their personal tax rate instead of caring about their business or who they serve. Foolish for be to be surprised, but it just seems so short sighted.

  • Just to mention, so people don't think this damage will be reversed in 4 years. They'll likely sell the rights to the data for a pittance after getting their own cut. The buyer will have a franchise to markup the data for 50 years.
