I read that it would give the riders time to think things over, in case they realized they didn't want to die. The coaster would allow for those who change their mind to get off and descend once reaching the top of the hill, I think there was supposed to be a button riders could hit to signal the operator.

Children can't do that if you're a responsible parent that keeps an eye on what their child is doing. Y'know, the bare minimum of parenting.

They do that partially to encourage people not to sit down and eat inside for a long time. They want you in, buying their trash, and GTFO quickly after. They make the seats intentionally uncomfortable so you don't stay for long.
