  • It's rooted in all that "American Exceptionalism" propaganda crap, for sure.

  • In classic conservative fashion, Bush shows that he only cares insofar as it impacted a program he considered part of his "legacy."

He doesn't care who else gets hurt, he cares that his "legacy" is tarnished.

He's absolutely fine with anything else Trump does, because none of it affects him directly, but he has to speak out when his own pet project got shitcanned.

This is not meant in any way to diminish the good Bush's USAID programs did. It's just clear that this is the only reason he cares about it.

  • I mean I always stay home because I'm an introvert, but yeah, mirroring what other's have already said in this thread, I haven't had much to feel patriotic about since at least the Dubya Bush years. So probably more than 20 years of not feeling it.

  • Where's Samuel L. Jackson when you need him.

  • Are there even any really good games coming out this year?

Further, didn't the Switch 2 already break sales records? 5.4 million consoles? 1.8 million of them in the US?

Looking at the roster of games that have come out so far this year, it looks pretty barren for genuinely quality games. Maybe people just haven't bought a lot of the kind of forgettable titles? The only games that seem popular that aren't remakes or re-releases of previous games are Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Blue Prince, Split Fiction, Death Stranding 2, Kingdom Come Deliverance II, Doom: The Dark Ages, and Elden Ring Nightreign. Of those, only the first four listed score above 90 on Metacritic. Even stuff like Monster Hunter Wilds has been deeply panned.

I think it's probably a mixture of high prices, lack of money, Switch 2 sales and waiting on better Switch 2 titles other than just Mario Kart World, as well as a lackluster roster of other quality games.

  • George Costanza redeemed.

  • Weevil Women

  • They don't plan on having voting be a thing anymore. They're not concerned with needing their base. Lots of undemocratic countries have "voting" where somehow Fearless Leader always comes out on top with 95% of the vote. That's where we are headed.

First, the most fascinating detail to emerge is that it appears the NSA was talking to the giant telecoms about handing over customer data a full seven months before 9/11. Documents show that Nacchio met with the NSA on February 27, 2001, at which time Nacchio refused a request that he deemed illegal. If true, this would seem to contradict the Bush administration claim that any laws broken by the telecoms were hasty mistakes made in the confusion following the terrorist attacks.

Nacchio still needed to get nailed for insider trading, but this got swept under the rug during the Bush years.

Also, this paved the way for untrustworthy Louisiana company CenturyTel to buy Qwest and rename themselves as CenturyLink.

Anyway we have been a police state for a long time, it's just only recently the mask slipped.

  • Seriously, who doesn't like a bathtub BJ?

But also, who fills their tub that full?? If he dipped his shoulders into it the water would overflow the sides. Damn comic artists not getting water displacement physics correct! I expect and demand realism in my stupid badly drawn comics!

  • That's a cop-out, he was doing unhinged shit well before the stroke.

  • If ICE was a military, it would be the third most funded military in the world with this budget. Right behind US and China and about $50 billion more than Russia.

We are looking at concentration camps for real.

  • The bootlickers literally dipped in pride of America when Trump was voted out. Became more prideful when he got back in.

They have no capacity for critical thinking or competent understanding of anything at all. A bunch of knuckle dragging idiots.

  • They've been hurting themselves in their confusion since Nixon, like hell they're going to stop now.

They literally don't understand systems, they only understand what happens to themselves directly. They are an entirely emotion-based political bloc.

  • We are in the endgame of dismantling science and education now.

  • Ha, that's pretty optimistic to think after all this that democracy and voting will still be part of the picture.
