The food assistance one is especially dumb because it is already set up so that if you work they reduce the amount of food assistance you get, based on your income. So forcing work requirements in tandem with the existing rules will do nothing but reduce access.

Of course, that's the point. They only "save" money if they are reducing the amount spent, and work requirements will absolutely reduce the amount going out.

Although I would argue the bureaucratic overhead required to check on employment status will offset most of the savings.

I agree but there's actually a lot of work that has been done on training horses with compassion instead of the old ways of "breaking" them.

As long as the horses are treated right, have ample space to roam, healthy food, and aren't exploited for work of some kind, I think it's probably as okay as having any other kind of pet. Just sadly financially out of reach for most considering the land, food, and time requirements.

Obviously this place in particular is still raising them for racing, which is quite sad.

It's weird, Breen is so... forgettable to me.

To be fair, they both look like high school principals.

To be fair to Star Wars, the suits at Disney changed tactics because of negative fan reaction to the first sequel so we don't actually know how good they could have turned out if we had just let the creatives in charge finish their vision that started in 7. 8 and 9 were weird specifically because Disney suits were afraid of pissing off fans and changed direction twice instead of committing to the original vision. Fans complained about the prequels as well but Lucas committed to his vision and now so many years later the prequels are viewed far more favorably.

Is the G-man the main villain? I thought it was always a little unclear. In HL it's the Nialinth snd and HL2 it's the Combine. G-man seems like he's not clear on what side he is on, and it always felt that vagueness was intentional.
