  • That was not intended as snarky, just so you know. I was genuinely trying to be helpful, because I thought perhaps that's why you were confused.

  • If anything my experiences at that school sent me barrelling down a path towards atheism.

  • I was sent to a private Baptist school until I was in the sixth grade so I am all too familiar.

  • I still think that's giving them a little too much credit and that religion is just a convenient excuse to hate people who are different.

  • Thank you kindly for the clarification. This, I largely agree with. However I do think a large contingency of Trump voters literally want to return to an era where they can abuse the LGBTQ+ community and other minorities with impunity.

  • It's literally on page 5 of Project 2025, which equates being transgender with abusing children. Then on page 554 they posit that they must increase the use of the death penalty and they single out "crimes against children" to be one of the things that they should put people to death for. This is literally the plan.

    Page 5:

Pornography, manifested today in the omnipresent propagation of transgender ideology and sexualization of children, for instance, is not a political Gordian knot inextricably binding up disparate claims about free speech, property rights, sexual liberation, and child welfare. It has no claim to First Amendment protection. Its purveyors are child predators and misogynistic exploiters of women. Their product is as addictive as any illicit drug and as psychologically destructive as any crime. Pornography should be outlawed. The people who produce and distribute it should be imprisoned. Educators and public librarians who purvey it should be classed as registered sex offenders. And telecommunications and technology firms that facilitate its spread should be shuttered.

    Page 554:

Capital punishment is a sensitive matter, as it should be, but the current crime wave makes deterrence vital at the federal, state, and local levels. However, providing this punishment without ever enforcing it provides justice neither for the victims’ families nor for the defendant. The next conservative Administration should therefore do everything possible to obtain finality for the 44 prisoners currently on federal death row. It should also pursue the death penalty for applicable crimes—particularly heinous crimes involving violence and sexual abuse of children—until Congress says otherwise through legislation.

  • Also spoiler: This stuff regarding pornography is built so that they will soon define existing as a trans person as being pornographic, and if you're seen existing as a trans person in front of children, you've committed a pedophilic crime against children, and oh yeah, they want to bring back capital punishment for those kind of crimes.

This is just an excuse to literally start murdering the LGBTQ+ community at large.

  • They won't even be dragged out of a house in the middle of the night.

The house will be obliterated by a reaper drone from miles away.

  • I included the "/s" to attempt to make clear I was being mildly sarcastic. If you're unfamiliar, it's supposed to be a reference to old HTML coding, and a slash would denote the end of a programming statement. "/s" has been shorthand for a long time for "this is the end of a sarcastic statement." Hope that helps make it make more sense!

  • No wonder young men are more stupid and violent than they have been in a long time! /s

  • A long time ago a good friend taught me the value in not saying anything at all.

I use that skill more in public than online.

  • The only time a hacker is going to target you like this is if you're an extremely high value target like a CEO or if you're in the crosshairs of a nation-state. The average hacker isn't going to waste this kind of effort to hack someone with $200 in their bank account and no power over anything or anyone.

  • And this is why people wanted headphone jacks... and also why corporations didn't want them.

  • True, but if you use a VPN and don't use their DNS (and especially if you set up a recursive DNS server of your own) they have a lot less information about what you do online.

  • Hell, one time I had been having so much sex so frequently that my dick literally got swollen from too much abuse. Kind of freaked me out at first.

  • Sorry, didn't mean to imply it was a bad thing. It's only a bad thing when you want to limit others because of your own lack of self control as a means to control yourself.

  • This is a very important point. There is a reason there is a "cultural victory" in the Civilization games and the UK is definitely ceding cultural influence with this move.

  • Not if you're just renting a server in a foreign country with different privacy laws and rolling your own VPN.

Also some VPNs allow payment with cryptocurrency.

Mullvad, for instance, accepts Monero, Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, and Bitcoin Lightning.
